This turtle was inexplicable found along the inside of the fence by Portable Building 6. The staff in PB2 rescued the turtle and returned it to its pond habitat.
This is what I call a turtle's eye view. I have Lucky up on a bale of hay so that we can see the colors that another turtle would see. From up above Lucky is much more drab.
Lucky is a male "Three-toed-boxturtle." I was surprised to learn that the name Lucky is used a lot for naming turtles. I suppose that comes from the near-death situations that they are found. Except for a chunk of missing shell on his belly, Lucky was in pretty good shape when I took him in.
Sammy was a gift from a friend, He used to be named Danny, but I have a very close friend named Danny, so of course Someone had to change their name and the turtle volunteered.
