Why did the turtle cross the road? I don't know either, but I bet those little pebbles were hot on his tootsie's!

Crazy guy downtown that throws his voice so that it looks like his pet turtle is talking. I jest. This is actually Alligator Bayou in Baton Rouge. Well worth the time and money if you get the chance to go.

I found a snapping turtle. My friend said he looked "snappy." No punn intending I'm sure ;).

Maddy trained me really - when she wants to go somewhere she goes and nothing you do changes her mind - my turtle is a stubborn turtle.

Turtle in pond at the Flamingo, Las Vegas

This guy was not scared of us at all. He stood his ground even after I jumped back away from him after realizing he was staring me down.

Thanks, Larry Meade for the identification -- I've looked it up -- seems right.... but I'm no expert with turtles, (knowing what a Box Turtle is about the most I know!), so I'll call it a "Painted Turtle", but if anyone else has other identification ideas -- they are welcome.

Here is the whole family!

2010-03-22 - Imagine Turtle Ranch

This turtle was stranded at low tide. We poured some water on its shell and body to stop it from drying out, but it was way too heavy for us to move.

According to others who came after us, the turtle's front-right flipper (not shown) was injured. Poor thing.

There were a lot of turtles in El Salvador

I found this turtle stranded in the middle of a hot Alabama road. This picture was taken at his release.

I didn't have anything to show the scale, but this turtle must be at least three feet long. It looks like a freaking dinosaur.
