There were a couple others grazing quietly but they were scared off by a large party of boisterous Spaniards. ¡Muchos gracias, amigos!

Turtle & a five year old inspecting the animal. She tried holding the turtle a few minutes earlier and when then turtle pulled his back legs out, she threw him down. Fortunately, the turtle was OK.

He was placed back in the lake 100 feet away where he quickly swam away and ended up on our porch again an hour later.

Fun little guy to play with for a while. He disappeared later that night and never showed up again.

I have my opinion on Barbados. It isn’t as paradisiac as people say. At least to me. Having said that, I went for a boat day trip which included swimming with giant turtles… and that, it was amazing!! :)

The guides kept throwing bread around you so the turtles were swimming very very close to you, even sometimes bumping into you. There was also 10000s of fishes swimming around. In fact, I liked it so much that I booked another day trip for the very next day :)

This was only the second time in my 14 years at Lake Toxaway to see this turtle. He/she lives in the pond. Huge and probably very old.
