Large sea turtle munching on the seaweed on rocks. We are looking down from the wall at the edge of Michael and Sally's front lawn. Turtle's shell is probably at least 3 feet long.
This snapping turtle was about three feet away from our tent when we all saw each other. She froze, deliberated for fifteen minute, then set off in search of a different spot (far from humans!) in which to lay her eggs.
She was just walking around minding her own business. While she was not thrilled with the camera, she was tolerant.
This large female softshell turtle was resting in the woods one morning, some distance from water. Perhaps she was exhausted after digging a nest and laying eggs the previous night.
This turtle was found back-stroking swimming for some reason. I've never seen a turtle back-stroke swim before so this was interesting to watch.
My sisters baby-turtle. I promised her to up-load some pictures. So here we are. Hermann - the stage is your's!!! :o))
Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park is a small park that also touches about four miles of the Gulf of Mexico. It is located in Port Richey, FL in western Pasco County. There are so many opportunities to see animals in the natural habitat including gray fox, alligators, gopher tortoises, and endless species of birds.
Also, make yourself at home with the beautiful greenery that surrounds the whole park. If you are lucky, you may see a colorful butterfly, or the many animals that make the park their home.
