I spotted a large snapping turtle on the side of the road while en route to Madison, WI. This guy was not happy to have his picture taken.

 

Is a little turtle very agressive, and it has a pig nose.

This may *look* like a golf course sand trap, but much more importantly, it's also a preferred spot for turtles to lay their eggs

A turtle never sees its own butt, so Dave took a picture so he could show one.

In an antiques store in Brussels. Looks about as happy as I feel about him or her being there. As he or she is such a huge specimen I suppose, and hope, that he or she had a fabulous life. Having seen Sea Turtles in the Indian Ocean being left to their turtlely devices it looks as though he is quite happy. I hope.

My grandparents gave me two turtles a while back. Now they've grown from around the size of half of my palm to bigger than my hand.

I shot a sequence of a turtle swimming past me. I picked the best shots of the sequence and have played around with them to get a variety of results.

(Trachemys scripta elegans) Acquired by my grandsons Hunter & Dillin when it was half dollar size. With great cae they have raised this turtle to be a healthy uoung adult.

An African Helmeted Turtle (Terrapin) suddenly arrived in our garden the other day out of nowhere - there are no likely bodies of water around where we could think he came from. We have placed him in the care of a wildlife organisation who will place him in a suitable (wild) environment!
