Keep the smallest creatures in mind during drought conditions..like this small turtle in need of a low drink of water

Walking along a creek I noticed this turtle sitting on a large fallen tree across a creek. I am still puzzled how he got up onto the log..

I am pretty sure I am on the wrong side of the sunlight, but its not everyday I see a turtle.

After laying down a few feet from this gal she opened her mouth nice and wide (not sure if it was a threat display or if she was just stretching her jaw). She quickly realized I wasn’t that much of a threat and and decided I wasn’t worth her time, and went on her way.

Saw this turtle with a 9-10" shell, form tail to head measurement, on my way to work. Of course my twelve year old daughter wanted to taouch it. She's more like me than she wants to admit.

This guy(gal) Eastern Box Turtle was walking across our lawn yesterday morning. It was good to see one again.

I used to catch these when I was a kid and my mom would let me keep them for a day or two but then I had to let them go. I always love to see them.

This is a Stinkpot Turtle photo taken at Tuckahoe State Park on The Lore Of the Land Nature trail . They are a kind of Mud turtle . They can excrete a foul smelling liquid and live in Streams and Creeks .

This turtle came up in the garage yesterday afternoon, April 20, 2010, for a visit. I gave him a ride back out into the woods. This was imaged with my cell phone.

A giant turtle that got washed up on the beach at Pondicherry. Unfortunately, it died a few hours later. Later I got to know that this is a common sight now. Turtles & other marine animals get caught in fishermen's nets & die a very painful death.

This turtle is too good for its own shell.

My dog Chester led us to this guy. Kind of strange to find a turtle this big in your backyard in town. Chester must have been sniffing the turtle and ended up coming up with a bloody nose.
