I saw an article in the paper today about how the NJ Fish & WIldflife dept was looking for any sitings of the eastern box turtle in NJ. It is very rare and very endangered. Still worth investigating I figure.

This female snapping turtle is laying her eggs along the trail following Crooked Creek at Hammond Lake/Ives Run Recreation Area in northern Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, a good number of the eggs are dug up and consumed by predators before they hatch.
