Just somethin inspired aesthetically & content-wise by the music video for St. Vincent's 'Cheerleader' and Phantogram's jam 'Turning Into Stone', respectively. Pieces of art, those. Geniuses, them.
Basically idk, it scares me a little how desensitized we can become, how easily we can dehumanize other people by going stony inside you know. Like every time I meet people I've only known from online in person I have this stupid shock of realization that they're an actual human being every single time. It's just so strange that until you come face to face with another person it's like they're only half real. Which is I guess exactly why cyber bullying is such an issue--I don't think it's as much a cowardice thing so much as just people not being able to recognize the full humanity of another person because of that divide. Idk though I'm no expert either way bullying is absolute crap.
And also I (& a lot of others I think) have the bad habit of emotionally distancing myself from things & people without even meaning to, just because it's less messy than feeling you know. Honestly I don't think I've cried for a straight three years; college's definitely been easier being removed. But easier's not always better you know, the easy way's never the way to take. Meh. It's a work in progress, I'm a work in progress, you're all works in progress, we'll all never not be works in progress. Anyways, go watch that video & listen to the song & then go outside & sit in the sun or rain or do whatever you want it's your life weirdo don't let me tell you what to do.

An Amtrak long-distance consist backs into Chicago Union Station after spinning on the wye at CP-Lumber. Amtrak's shops can be seen on the right, with Chicago's skyline forming the backdrop.
The colorful facial skin of this young Wood Stork has darkened leaving only hints of violet near its eyes and lime green on its forehead. The transformation will continue as it grows until it reaches adulthood with a featherless black-skinned head and neck.

Soon, Merom coal trains won’t be running east of Sullivan on the INRD anymore. But for now, a Merom load pulls up grade into town as the leaves begin to appear.

So on my first day in Tokyo, I spotted these two girls walking around kawagoe. I chased them, said hello and pointed at my camera to them with a big smile... they gladly posed for me. Yay.

A very rushed pic, and actually shot through the fence rather than over the top from the stepladder. 'Knife 75' surprised me with a sudden banked turn onto the pad.

Don't miss architect Santiago Calatrava's spectacular apartment building in the Western Harbour. At 190 metres, Turning Torso is the tallest building in Sweden. The building was inspired by a sculpture "Turning Torso" by Calatrava himself. Turning Torso consists of nine cubes with a total of 54 stories, with a 90° twist from base to top. As the green springtime hills turn to brown, BNSF's Q-STOCHI works its way through Cliff, CA in the Tehachapi Mountains.
"Turning Leaves:" It's hard for me to believe a few leaves on some trees have already begun to turn their vibrant hues of gold. I took advantage of a small pool along the Hassayampa River and captured a long exposure photograph of the leaves in motion in the water's current.

The was another reason why I decided to go down to Malmö. A very common long exposure subject to photograph, and so did I.

A La Ronde is an unusual 16-sided house built by two cousins, Jane and Mary Parminter, in 1796. The cousins were inspired by a grand tour of the European continent and created this striking house looking out over the Exe estuary. The interiors contain mementoes collected by the two women, and feature unusual decor, including a 'feather frieze', and a gallery lined with shells. The latter chamber is so fragile that visitors must view it on closed-circuit television.
The story of the Parminters and their travels reads like something out of an adventure romance novel. We know some details of the Parminter Grand Tour, as Jane Parminter kept a journal. The first six weeks of a transcription have survived, and give a colourful account of their journey through France. There were initially four women on the tour; Jane, her sister Elizabeth, their cousin Mary and a friend.
The four women visited Versailles and saw Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette (at a distance), and engaged in the 18th century equivalent of a whirlwind tour of Paris before travelling to the Dijon region, where they visited such diverse places as schools, churches, gardens, and hospitals.
