This Chickadee was sitting in a bush in the early morning light. As he turned this corner, I hope that I've turned an artistic corner myself. This no cropping, straight from the camera, with 1 slight correction. At -4 degrees, I'm kinda proud!

One of the highlights of my trip to China was to meet the famous cormorant fishermen of Guilin. Even if the water is too polluted now for fishing to be sustainable, these fishermen remain icons of some sort in this area, prized by many photographers, yet they remain as graceful as ever, even with old age. Their art will eventually be lost, as new generations take over, turning traditions into simple tourist attractions. I’m so glad and honored to have been able to meet the authentic, original cormorant fishermen of Guilin.

On an isolated gravel road, the occasional car probably passes this scene by without the people in it giving a second glance. But an old farm veteran quickly spots a trio of items he recognizes from years ago, an old pickup, a glimpse of a red outbuilding in the back corner and a tree that used to welcome visitors turning into the short land but now cut down. As we age, the path of our memories are strewn with reminders that mean little to those who are younger.
As a Mustang fanatic , I really love how Ford has evolved the classic 3 bar taillight over the years... Mr. Mean and I approve..

It was tough to find fall color around Grand Rapids this weekend.
Our "October Hurricane" knocked down most of the early turning leaves and the main canopies are still completely green.
I am happy we got some rain and cool nights though, was really starting to get worried about a "green to brown to down" autumn.

Some nice skies and light yesterday afternoon so had a little drive around and ended up at Saxstead Post Mill. Luckily the crops were starting to show, sails were turning and the light played ball, perfect for a bit of IR.

This is my brother in law and nephew in the countryside near Glossop. He has lots of cattle which will feature soon too.
