This killdeer was doing a very convincing broken-wing act to try to lead me away from what was likely a close nest site. It was flopping around on the ground looking like it had two broken wings and an injured tail and kept turning to look at me to see if I was following it.

Loved how the turning colors on the tree stood out from the white facades of these colonial buildings in historic Williamsburg. There's nothing more beautiful than fall in the Mid-Atlantic.

Turning Torso is a residential skyscraper in Sweden and the tallest building in the Nordic countries. Located in Malmö on the Swedish side of the Öresund strait, it was built and is owned by HSB Sweden.
The project was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and officially opened on 27 August 2005. The tower reaches a height of 190 metres (623 feet) with 54 stories and 147 apartments.
In August 2015, it was announced that the building was the winner of the 10 Year Award from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
Turning Torso is based on a sculpture by Calatrava, called Twisting Torso, which is a white marble piece based on the form of a twisting human being.
In 1999, HSB Malmö's former managing director, Johnny Örbäck, saw the sculpture in a brochure presenting Calatrava in connection with his contribution to the architectural competition for the Öresund Bridge. It was on this occasion that Örbäck was inspired to build HSB Turning Torso. Shortly afterwards he travelled to Zurich to meet Calatrava, and ask him to design a residential building based on the idea of a structure of twisting cubes.
A similar, taller skyscraper featuring a 90° twist is the Cayan Tower, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Sweden's tallest residential building is the HSB Turning Torso, a sculptural sustainable skyscraper that gently spirals as it ascends above the skyline of Malmo. Designed by renowned architect, sculptor and structural engineer Santiago Calatrava, the gigantic tower stands 54 floors high and features a form inspired by the Spanish architect's studies on nature and human bodies. The fantastic tower is completely powered by renewable energy, and it twists a full 90 degrees from top to bottom.

So obviously I am at odds against myself on me turning 40. Life has had some real curve balls lately. I was talking to a great photography friend of mine Lucz about my situation. She has a wicked good feel for some amazing dark style photos. I told her I had an idea for a birthday picture and told her the fundamentals of what I was thinking. She came up with the great idea to take a shot in a cemetery. So yes...I'm really sitting in a cemetery! I apologized to all the "people" there and assured them that I was doing this for a good cause and I would make a great photo out of it. This entire shoot was really good therapy for me. I feel at peace with myself and everything going on around me. And I'm obviously secretly hoping that 40 is the new 20!

So now I am torn I do like being blonde but when I get back to the go to hair I can’t choose 😱. The one advantage of my hair being mine coz I bought it is the option to change it out but when drastically different looks actually work hard to pic. Irony is if it was my actual hair I would chop it off and try a pixie cut 😂 ♀️

The KBS railroad is interesting for many reasons, but one of which is its trackage. I touched on it previously, but the railroad is formed like a triangle with tracks from the New York Central, Nickel Plate Road, and Milwaukee Road. Each of them is pretty straight, with little in the way of curvature - typical of midwestern rail lines - but curves can most certainly still be found.
At Templeton, Indiana, the former New York Central merges with the former Nickel Plate Road. From here onwards to Lafayette, the tracks were actually shared by both the NYC and NKP. Little remains that would identify either long-dead company, but the tracks are still used by the KBS today. Templeton itself is rather small, hosting a few blocks worth of homes as well as one rail-serviceable industry. I'm not sure what that industry is nor if it is even still rail served, but the tracks are there anyways.
KBS701 and 702 lead our train on the ex-NYC curve onto the final stretch towards Lafayette. Clouds had been troublesome for the previous few shots, but Templeton was thankfully sunny enough for a good photo. Always nice to get a curve shot!
