Kim and Jung at Apple Deli makes some great sandwiches. Very fresh, and watching the two lovely women make the sandwiches with such incredible efficiency is always a joy.
Chicago Board of Education Bureau of Lunchrooms cards found in an abandoned trade school. Another visit made me realize there must be 100s of different cards, so I'll be scanning (and rescanning the prior ones) 2 to a page.

Susan came home from a long hard week on the road. She was feeling really grummy -- coughing, stuffy nose, and all that stuff.
I figured a bit of TLC and a nice lunch might be in order.
Cream of tomato soup with a dash of basil. I made tuna salad with minced apples, chopped walnuts, dried cranberries, a bit of mayo, and a splash of raspberry vinaigrette on red leaf lettuce with crackers & grapes.
I see that Flickr auto-tagged it with "animal" and "meal". I'm still trying to find the animal. Maybe they just meant "animal meal". Yeah, that Susan can be an animal at times. ;-)

Both are done now, and in their containers. Tuna salad is always better on the 2nd day, but Chong wanted me to make her a tuna salad sandwich to take to work, so I made her one. The brocolli/cheese will be side dishes with other meals and I'll have some today.
1 can of tuna
1 shallot (finely chopped)
1 T chopped cilantro
2 T mayo
1 T lemon juice
2 T roasted pinenutssss
1 pinch of cumin
salt, pepper
Oh, and sriracha, of course. :-)
