went a bit mad at the guilfest... walking around the whole day with no shirt on, and not a lot of water was perhaps not the smartest thing i ever did, but i quite like some of the results, you'll see the result soon! (as i still work on catching up with everybody...)

In a ground-breaking humanitarian action triggered by a forecast of flood risk, the Uganda Red Cross (URCS) distributed just under 5,000 preparedness items to communities in Kapelebyong sub-county, some 300 km north-east of the capital, Kampala, in November 2015. The non-food items (NFI) were procured under ‘forecast-based financing’ with the support of the German government through the German Red Cross. The URCS mobilized the supplies as soon as a predetermined threshold of forecast risk was crossed a day ahead of the operation. “One of the disaster effects we are targeting is waterborne disease,” said Irene Amuron, URCS Disaster Risk Reduction Manager, who led the operation. Local Acting Chief Administration Officer Paul Edotu had indicated that dysentery existed in the area, and the authorities were anxious to prevent it. Amuron added: “The teams have distributed two jerrycans, two bars of soap, and a month’s supply of water purification tablets to 370 households in the villages of Okoboi, Omatai, Apedu and Akulonyo,” all initially trucked from Kampala. “The Uganda Red Cross are immediate responders in times of disaster,” said URCS Secretary General Robert Kwesiga. “By using forecasts in we are now intervening even earlier, before receiving reports of disasters. The packaged version of my first attempt at building a timelapse trigger to use with my Canon XSi.

A Timelapse Trigger based on a 555 IC, a potentiometer, a couple LEDs, and a few resistors, capicators, and switches. More or less following the plans on the version published in Make Magazine, Volume 15 and it's nearly identical but slightly more detailed Instructables project page. I made a few changes to make it work for me as well as a change to give me more options on how fast it takes shots (one mode for about 10 seconds to about 30 seconds, another mode for about 1 minute 30 seconds to just over 3 minutes, and a resulting glitch that can triggers the camera once every 2.5 seconds or so).
While there are better, more precise time-lapse triggers out there, I enjoyed building this one (plus this one cost me less than $10, which is probably one of the least expensive solutions out there for my Canon XSi)

Close up of sound trigger, after striker makes contact with mic. PVC pipe arrangement lets me easily change the positon of the striker and further change the delay. The older style quaketronics unit only has a small window of delay, so I need to make a mechanical delay for most shots to work.

This is probably the most common of all the M1 Garand trigger housings.
That depends somewhat on which industrial histories one chooses to accept, but they're surely frequently encountered.
And they seem to be encountered on rifles FAR later than most of the books suggest is "correct".
I need to offload some of my parts, as obviously, I will never do the accuracy projects and testing I'd intended to.
None of the work done so far will ever be published (no one even answers!!) and I can't afford to be buried with this crap.

PT-04 v3 Radio Triggers
The transmitter is practically the same as the v2's but it has a small antenna already soldiered to the board which seems to work very well. Ill have to do a more thorough test on it to see if it makes a difference
