Was great catching up with Nick Waters in a solo show on Sunday afternoon at Advancetown Hotel. Great session of songs I grew up with from the late 60's and 70's.
Nick is a terrific musician and showed everyone just how good he is playing both acoustic and electric guitar.
Put Nick down in your diary for when he comes your way either in a solo act or with his well known band, Captain WOW band.

Great dinner show at the Surfers Paradise Golf Club with music provided by The Australian Eagles Show. The group had the full house out of their seats and dancing all night long!
What a great night of nostalgia, was able to sit back and listen to some terrific tunes from the very early 70's from one of my favourite bands, The Eagles. This group were a joy to watch and reminded me of the various compilation tapes I once made all those years ago from my vinyl records.

Some photos from Monday night's fun time party at the Pan Pacific Masters Games here on the Gold Coast where Captain WOW entertained around 1500 competitors after a day of competition. Nick, Courtney, Shonay Raynham, and Jodie really had the crowd on their feet singing and dancing to songs participants at the Games grew up with.

What a special night was that at RSL Club Southport last Saturday night where a FULL HOUSE of over 700 enjoyed The Ultimate Experience listening to the music of David Bowie, Elton John and Freddie Mercury as expertly presented by Wayne Vitale, Greg Andrew and John Blunt. It might only be the first month of the year but I have little doubt that show will prove to be THE SHOW of 2019. Was an honour and privilege being able to take photos last night.
In this album I have posted photos of Greg Andrew from the Elton John part of the show, I trust you will enjoy them

Photos from the Blues Brothers 21Cats and Soul Sisters show at Eddie's Bandroom in Moorabbin. This was our first show for 2022, and what a way to kick off the new year with a very powerful and well orchestrated group of musicians recreating the music made famous by Jake and Elwood.

Terrific evening listening to hits made famous by the legendary Stevie Nicks being performed by Lisa West and her band. Some photos from Thursday night's fun time party at the Pan Pacific Masters Games here on the Gold Coast where the Hot Potato Band provided the entertainment. I first saw these guys in early 2016 at Surfers Live and was impressed then but last night I was totally blown away by their sound and performance - they were fantastic. And they know how to involve the audience and make them part of the show.
"Although difficult to describe their genre, HPB continues to compile their arsenal of songs inspired by Pop, Funk, Ska, Reggae and bound by the classic sounds of New Orleans brass bands.
The bands unique sound is built on the backs of three drummers and a sousaphone, along with an array of horns covering catchy chorus lines and providing a layered harmonic cloud for Ben (vocalist) to float above. They are a band never to shy from a good time."

No better way to play your first gig at Twin Towns than to a standing room only audience in the lounge - I know because Evelyn and I struggled to find seats. And then with the strum of the first note to see those present jump out of their seats and hit the dance floor to jive and boogie and do the jitterbug to the great sounds of The Wanderers Band with Glen Farrugia in the engine room on drums.
Loved the sound, loved the song choice, loved the atmosphere - took me back a few years (well quite a few years if truth be told). Great fun band that will certainly go places so make sure you catch them when they come to your neck of the woods. This is Rock and Roll as it should be played, listened and danced to.

When I heard earlier in the year that this show was coming to the Gold Coast I knew I had to see it. And James G Brennan, as the Boss, didn't disappoint. Been a Springsteen devotee for as long as I can remember and the band on Saturday night did full justice to what Bruce and his E String Band have brought us over the years.
Featuring James G Brennan Peter Ferguson Luke Williams Ash Higgins Jason Chandler & Adam Owens on the mighty sax!
My particular favourites were "The River" and "Jungleland", who can say NO to a bit of SAX and we got plenty of it in Saturday night's show. Will definitely catch James and his "Boss Experience" when they are next on the Gold Coast.

Went down to see Paul Hayman present his '50 Years of Legends' show and boy, what a show this is - great songs from yesteryear performed by a great singer who is more than ably supported by Kylie Wall with some astounding dance moves. The Eagels Band - RSL Club Southport - Jul 21, 2018
Another SOLD OUT/STANDING ROOM ONLY show last Saturday night at RSL Club Southport. The Eagels Band once again showed why they continue to be one of the most popular groups in the country - it was great watching these guys on stage interact not just with the audience but with each other and boy, did they have fun on stage as can be seen in many of the photos.
Their harmonies and musicianship on stage had the full house on their feet singing and dancing along to songs of yesteryear, songs that have stood the test of time.
On a personal note, there was no better way for me to spend the 11th anniversary of a massive heart attack than listening to some of the greatest music of my youth being performed by some of the best musicians we have in Australia - discovering live music here on the Gold Coast and rediscovering photography during my recovery process were two things that helped me after that life changing event.

Saturday night saw my wife and I hop on down to Surfers Paradise RSL to catch "The Dynamics" featuring Izzy (Isobel Hall) and Wazza (Warren Thomas). Was great being able to catch them performing in a club that actually had lighting which really made a difference when it came to taking photos - I counted ten spots.
Thoroughly enjoyable night of music, great vocals, fine guitarmanship (is there such a word? well there is now!). Covering Aus Rock, Classic Rock, Country and Modern Rock, was really fun, bopping along to tunes we had grown up with.
A bonus on the night was when Jonathan Everett-Jones took to the stage and joined in on some tunes with his legendary harp playing - the same Jonathan Everett-Jones who in years gone by played with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Alexis Korner and Supertramp amongst others including Joe Cocker and his Grease Band back in the 60's.

What a thoroughly entertaining show, Kerry James and Joey Ace brought to the stage of the Twin Towns Showroom some of the great music of yesteryear including songs from Dean Martin, Dusty Springfield, Johnny Cash, Bette Midler, Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Tina Turner, Sonny & Cher, Tom Jones, Liza Minelli to name a few.
Fourteen costume changes certainly impressed the 800+ strong audience and helped bring alive the music of some of the most loved musicians of all time.

Playing once again to a full house of over 500 people, the Rumours Fleetwood Mac Experience Show had everyone bopping along to the tunes made famous by Fleetwood Mac over the years including Rhiannon, Sara, Tusk to name a few.
People were dancing in front of the stage, in the aisles and at the back of the auditorium - it is no wonder this show keeps getting rave reviews and is back each year - they are very popular.
A great show full of energy and again a show that brought back memories of our younger days through music we grew up with.

Last Sunday we joined Betty, Dot and Mabel who took us on a journey back in time to the 1940’s. We re-lived some of the classics of the day including The Andrew Sisters' Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Vera Lynn’s We’ll Meet Again, songs by Doris Day and many more! It truly was a trip down memory lane for a lot of people who were there on the day.

What a night listening to Tim Gaze and The Echoes playing the music of Eric "Slowhand" Clapton at Club Burleigh. This was simple music, stripped back music, no fancy costume changes - this was the way Blues and Rock are meant to be played, au naturale - raw and plain. And boy did those of us present get treated to some great guitar playing by one of the best in the business, ably backed by some great musicians. For someone who grew up with the music of The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes it was so Wonderful Tonight! Slowhand - The Music Of Eric Clapton performed by Tim Gaze

Great show Saturday night with Greg Andrew bringing his Elton John Experience show to RSL Club Southport.
Playing to a full house, Greg had the audience singing along and dancing in front of the stage and at the back of the auditorium.
And as someone said on the night: "If you didn't know better, you would swear it was Sir Elton on stage performing live in front of you!" such is the voice, presentation and mannerisms of Greg when he is performing on stage.
Rebecca O'Connor as Tina Turner is SIMPLY THE BEST. There are not enough superlatives to describe this show. If Tina Turner had a twin sister her name would be Rebecca O'Connor.
This was a show that had everything - great music, lots of energy, full-on audience participation - BUT, if you didn't know better you would have thought you were watching Tina Turner on stage.
Endorsed by both Tina Turner and Mick Fleetwood, you very quickly understand why this is so the moment Rebecca takes the stage.
