Terrific show Saturday night with Rhydian Lewis bringing to Southport the sounds and music of Michael Buble. A great evening thoroughly enjoyed by all those present.

Another great night of Australian music by some of the best talent in Australia brought to you from the people at Made in Australia.
The evening featured three hours of iconic sounds made famous by Peter Garrett, Chrissy Amphlett and "Doc" Neeson.
If you closed your eyes and drifted into the clouds, the sounds you were listening to you would have sworn were those of Midnight Oil, The Divinyls and The Angels playing LIVE right there in front of you.
At RSL Club Southport.

What a night listening to Tim Gaze and The Echoes playing the music of Eric "Slowhand" Clapton at Club Burleigh. This was simple music, stripped back music, no fancy costume changes - this was the way Blues and Rock are meant to be played, au naturale - raw and plain. And boy did those of us present get treated to some great guitar playing by one of the best in the business, ably backed by some great musicians. For someone who grew up with the music of The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes it was so Wonderful Tonight! Slowhand - The Music Of Eric Clapton performed by Tim Gaze

Saturday night saw my wife and I hop on down to Surfers Paradise RSL to catch "The Dynamics" featuring Izzy (Isobel Hall) and Wazza (Warren Thomas). Was great being able to catch them performing in a club that actually had lighting which really made a difference when it came to taking photos - I counted ten spots.
Thoroughly enjoyable night of music, great vocals, fine guitarmanship (is there such a word? well there is now!). Covering Aus Rock, Classic Rock, Country and Modern Rock, was really fun, bopping along to tunes we had grown up with.
A bonus on the night was when Jonathan Everett-Jones took to the stage and joined in on some tunes with his legendary harp playing - the same Jonathan Everett-Jones who in years gone by played with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Alexis Korner and Supertramp amongst others including Joe Cocker and his Grease Band back in the 60's.

Another SOLD OUT/STANDING ROOM ONLY show last Saturday night at RSL Club Southport. The Eagels Band once again showed why they continue to be one of the most popular groups in the country - it was great watching these guys on stage interact not just with the audience but with each other and boy, did they have fun on stage as can be seen in many of the photos.
Their harmonies and musicianship on stage had the full house on their feet singing and dancing along to songs of yesteryear, songs that have stood the test of time.
On a personal note, there was no better way for me to spend the 11th anniversary of a massive heart attack than listening to some of the greatest music of my youth being performed by some of the best musicians we have in Australia - discovering live music here on the Gold Coast and rediscovering photography during my recovery process were two things that helped me after that life changing event.

Went down again to our local club, Nerang RSL, to see Nick Waters again - on each Thursday night this month, Nick will be playing in the Sports Bar - was another great night of good music and lots of laughter.
So good that our local club is now putting on regular live music for members of the club and those who live in the area.
Lighting is a bit of a challenge but was happy with these results.

Was great catching up with Nick Waters in a solo show on Sunday afternoon at Advancetown Hotel. Great session of songs I grew up with from the late 60's and 70's.
Nick is a terrific musician and showed everyone just how good he is playing both acoustic and electric guitar.
Put Nick down in your diary for when he comes your way either in a solo act or with his well known band, Captain WOW band.

Great show Saturday night with Greg Andrew bringing his Elton John Experience show to RSL Club Southport.
Playing to a full house, Greg had the audience singing along and dancing in front of the stage and at the back of the auditorium.
And as someone said on the night: "If you didn't know better, you would swear it was Sir Elton on stage performing live in front of you!" such is the voice, presentation and mannerisms of Greg when he is performing on stage.

Terrific night out seeing this great band again but this time at a different venue, at Eddie's Bandroom in Moorabbin, a perfect place to see and enjoy live music with pulsating sound and illuminating lighting. Look forward to catching these guys again down the track.

Another great TH!NK PINK show featuring Kylie L Clarke at RSL Club Southport. Kylie's likeness to Pink and her vocal presentation of Pink songs has to be seen and heard to be believed - uncanny is a word that comes to mind, and boy is she full of energy!
Kylie had the 500+ audience up out of their seats dancing in front of the stage, up the back and down the sides of the auditorium. This is one show that should not be missed when it comes to a town near you.
What a fantastic show last night, really did not know what to expect but was totally blown away by the incredible voice of 17 year old Isaiah Firebrace, winner of X Factor Australia 2016.
Isaiah had the audience mesmerized with his vocal range and wide range of music he chose to perform.
Terrific evening listening to hits made famous by the legendary Stevie Nicks being performed by Lisa West and her band. Cabarita Beach Sports Club might be a small club but Lisa and the guys had the audience up and out of their seats dancing and singing along so some of the greatest tunes of our time. Look forward to catching this show again soon.

First time hearing this group and first visit to this venue in Burleigh on the Gold Coast and wasn't disappointed. The place had a real vibe about it like the good old pub rock days of the 70's and 80's with the music on the night being from this era.
And Joanne Elbers out front of this really tight band really rocked the house which had a full dance floor singing and dancing along to some of the great songs of years gone by.

Well that was a show with Sir Mick strutting and pouting on stage while Keefy was doing the splits and all sorts of acrobatics - great show, great music and great memories of tunes I grew up with in the 60's and 70's. Well done David Gray and The Best of The Eagles, a SOLD OUT show at Twin Towns, something many groups in our neck of the woods aspire to do.

What an electric show at Options Tavern in Helensvale last night, full of energy and bounce - literally - both on stage and on the dance floor with those present jumping to the sounds of PINK and Lady Gaga.

Went down to South Tweed Sports club to see Wayne Vitale in his new "The David Bowie Show". Supported by the musicians from The Killer Queen band, Wayne was smoking hot with his performance, and he had the audience dancing along in front of the stage - would be fair to say the crowd took the hint when Wayne played the song "Let's Dance".
This was a terrific show and Wayne did a superb job as Bowie.

Last Sunday we joined Betty, Dot and Mabel who took us on a journey back in time to the 1940’s. We re-lived some of the classics of the day including The Andrew Sisters' Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Vera Lynn’s We’ll Meet Again, songs by Doris Day and many more! It truly was a trip down memory lane for a lot of people who were there on the day.

Great dinner show at the Surfers Paradise Golf Club with music provided by The Australian Eagles Show. The group had the full house out of their seats and dancing all night long!
What a great night of nostalgia, was able to sit back and listen to some terrific tunes from the very early 70's from one of my favourite bands, The Eagles. This group were a joy to watch and reminded me of the various compilation tapes I once made all those years ago from my vinyl records.
