What a night listening to Tim Gaze and The Echoes playing the music of Eric "Slowhand" Clapton at Club Burleigh. This was simple music, stripped back music, no fancy costume changes - this was the way Blues and Rock are meant to be played, au naturale - raw and plain. And boy did those of us present get treated to some great guitar playing by one of the best in the business, ably backed by some great musicians. For someone who grew up with the music of The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes it was so Wonderful Tonight! Slowhand - The Music Of Eric Clapton performed by Tim Gaze

A real trip down memory lane listening to the music of the Ted Mulry Gang in their "This one is for you, Ted" show.
If you grew up in the 60's/70's then you would have been familiar with Ted Mulry and his music. Sadly, Ted lost his life to brain cancer in 2001 but his music lives on with the band touring with Ted's brother Steve fronting the band.

Great show last night with The Beatlegs at CSI Club Southport. These guys are the real deal, full of life and laughter on stage - and they had the full house on the dance floor from the first strum of the first song.
Listening to songs like "Hey Jude" and "She Loves You, Yea, Yea Yea" was great but the standout song for me again was "A Day In The Life".
This was the third time I have seen this group in the past three years and definitely look forward to seeing them again when next they are in town.

Terrific evening listening to hits made famous by the legendary Stevie Nicks being performed by Lisa West and her band. Look forward to catching this show again soon.

What an incredible afternoon of live music at Nerang RSL with the incomparable Mental As Anything rocking the house of over 500+ punters. First saw this group back in 1976 in Sydney when I was completing my BA Dip Ed - and boy, did I get an education from these guys back then! And today, 43 years later, I was up there with the best of them moving to hypnotic sounds of Greedy Smith and his great band.
Opening for the Mentals was Gold Coast local Nick Waters who most certainly got the huge crowd into the mood for when Mental As Anything took to the stage.
"A popular urban myth concerns a group of art students who passed themselves off as a band in order to con the local publican into giving them a gig in exchange for free beer. The deception worked better than intended, and the group came to be known as Mental as Anything. Nearly two decades later, they are still irritating the public with their highly listenable, idiosyncratic brand of garage pop. A self-explanatory single to reflect their success, The Nips Are Getting Bigger, rose through the charts as did their fundamental understanding of the old adage that 'for every action there is a reaction'. Ahead lay a very lengthy pub crawl which only the accomplished could survive."
A big shout out to Nerang RSL for a truly memorable afternoon of live music on the Gold Coast.

What an energetic and entertaining show this morning. Paul Hayman certainly knows how to turn it on and what better place to do it than in a near full 1000+ auditorium known as the Twin Towns Showroom. A privilege to again have the opportunity to 'shoot' Paul and his "Not Strictly Ballroom" show. And how lucky is he to have his talented wife Kylie on stage dancing with him.
Don't miss Paul later this year when he brings his "Cloudland the Musical" show to Twin Towns in September.

Outstanding Buddy Holly show Saturday night put on by Gold Coast Entertainment Network featured the talent of Christopher Knight and his The Australian Buddy Holly Show. Playing to a sold out house, the audience got into the groove early and took to the dance floor from the first song.

Rebecca O'Connor as Tina Turner is SIMPLY THE BEST. There are not enough superlatives to describe this show. If Tina Turner had a twin sister her name would be Rebecca O'Connor.
This was a show that had everything - great music, lots of energy, full-on audience participation - BUT, if you didn't know better you would have thought you were watching Tina Turner on stage.
Endorsed by both Tina Turner and Mick Fleetwood, you very quickly understand why this is so the moment Rebecca takes the stage.

Another great night of Australian music by some of the best talent in Australia brought to you from the people at Made in Australia.
The evening featured three hours of iconic sounds made famous by Peter Garrett, Chrissy Amphlett and "Doc" Neeson.
If you closed your eyes and drifted into the clouds, the sounds you were listening to you would have sworn were those of Midnight Oil, The Divinyls and The Angels playing LIVE right there in front of you.

What a special night was that at RSL Club Southport last Saturday night where a FULL HOUSE of over 700 enjoyed The Ultimate Experience listening to the music of David Bowie, Elton John and Freddie Mercury as expertly presented by Wayne Vitale, Greg Andrew and John Blunt. It might only be the first month of the year but I have little doubt that show will prove to be THE SHOW of 2019. Was an honour and privilege being able to take photos last night.
In this album I have posted photos of Greg Andrew from the Elton John part of the show, I trust you will enjoy them

What an electric show at Options Tavern in Helensvale last night, full of energy and bounce - literally - both on stage and on the dance floor with those present jumping to the sounds of PINK and Lady Gaga.
Terrific representations of arguably two of this generation's leading female artists portrayed by Kim Boath (PINK) and Emily Johnson (Gaga) - highly recommend this show!
Look forward to one day 'shooting' this show on a big stage.

Another great TH!NK PINK show featuring Kylie L Clarke at RSL Club Southport. Kylie's likeness to Pink and her vocal presentation of Pink songs has to be seen and heard to be believed - uncanny is a word that comes to mind, and boy is she full of energy!
Kylie had the 500+ audience up out of their seats dancing in front of the stage, up the back and down the sides of the auditorium. This is one show that should not be missed when it comes to a town near you.
Playing once again to a full house of over 500 people, the Rumours Fleetwood Mac Experience Show had everyone bopping along to the tunes made famous by Fleetwood Mac over the years including Rhiannon, Sara, Tusk to name a few.
People were dancing in front of the stage, in the aisles and at the back of the auditorium - it is no wonder this show keeps getting rave reviews and is back each year - they are very popular.
A great show full of energy and again a show that brought back memories of our younger days through music we grew up with.
If they come your way well worth the effort of seeing them.

On this night, Killer Queen with John Blunt out front once again played to a full house of over 600 people.
This really is a show not to be missed when it comes to town with the performance of John Blunt with his voice and stage presence taking you back to the days when Freddie Mercury fronted the legendary Queen.
RSL Club Southport continues to bring only the best live shows in Australia to the Gold Coast.
Fun night of music, fun and laughter at the "Tom Jones & The Divas Show". How good was it listening to the great music of Tom Jones and his friends Liza Minelli, Dusty Springfield Shania Twain and Tina Turner as presented by Joey Ace and Susie Jay. Was great catching up with Nick Waters in a solo show on Sunday afternoon at Advancetown Hotel. Great session of songs I grew up with from the late 60's and 70's.

Listening to tunes from the 60's and 70's including those from The Mommas and the Poppas, Joe Cocker, Steppenwolf, Santana, Joni Mitchell, Eagles, Dylan, Sonny and Cher, Neil Diamond, Daddy Cool, Abba, Tina Turner just to name a few brought back fond memories from years gone by.

Saturday night saw my wife and I hop on down to Surfers Paradise RSL to catch "The Dynamics" featuring Izzy (Isobel Hall) and Wazza (Warren Thomas). Was great being able to catch them performing in a club that actually had lighting which really made a difference when it came to taking photos - I counted ten spots.
Thoroughly enjoyable night of music, great vocals, fine guitarmanship (is there such a word? well there is now!). Covering Aus Rock, Classic Rock, Country and Modern Rock, was really fun, bopping along to tunes we had grown up with.
A bonus on the night was when Jonathan Everett-Jones took to the stage and joined in on some tunes with his legendary harp playing - the same Jonathan Everett-Jones who in years gone by played with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Alexis Korner and Supertramp amongst others including Joe Cocker and his Grease Band back in the 60's.

Great dinner show at the Surfers Paradise Golf Club with music provided by The Australian Eagles Show. The group had the full house out of their seats and dancing all night long!
What a great night of nostalgia, was able to sit back and listen to some terrific tunes from the very early 70's from one of my favourite bands, The Eagles. This group were a joy to watch and reminded me of the various compilation tapes I once made all those years ago from my vinyl records.

Sold out show, not bad for your first visit to arguably the best club venue in South East Queensland.
The audience totally got into the music singing along to the early hits of the 60's and 70's and then rocking along to the sounds of the disco years on the dance floor and where ever they could find some space to move in the packed auditorium.

Now this show took me back to my surfing days at Bondi Beach and the music I grew up with. Great show put on by The Beach Boyz at South Tweed Sports Club. The first strum on the guitar had hardly been struck and the dance floor in front of the stage was full - and they were doing the twist, mashed potato, the swim, the monkey, the watusi to name just some of the old dance moves on display.
Great night, highly recommend, will certainly catch these guys again in the not too distant future

The Eagels Band - RSL Club Southport - Jul 21, 2018
Another SOLD OUT/STANDING ROOM ONLY show last Saturday night at RSL Club Southport. The Eagels Band once again showed why they continue to be one of the most popular groups in the country - it was great watching these guys on stage interact not just with the audience but with each other and boy, did they have fun on stage as can be seen in many of the photos.
Their harmonies and musicianship on stage had the full house on their feet singing and dancing along to songs of yesteryear, songs that have stood the test of time.
On a personal note, there was no better way for me to spend the 11th anniversary of a massive heart attack than listening to some of the greatest music of my youth being performed by some of the best musicians we have in Australia - discovering live music here on the Gold Coast and rediscovering photography during my recovery process were two things that helped me after that life changing event.

When I heard earlier in the year that this show was coming to the Gold Coast I knew I had to see it. And James G Brennan, as the Boss, didn't disappoint. Been a Springsteen devotee for as long as I can remember and the band on Saturday night did full justice to what Bruce and his E String Band have brought us over the years.
Featuring James G Brennan Peter Ferguson Luke Williams Ash Higgins Jason Chandler & Adam Owens on the mighty sax!
My particular favourites were "The River" and "Jungleland", who can say NO to a bit of SAX and we got plenty of it in Saturday night's show. Will definitely catch James and his "Boss Experience" when they are next on the Gold Coast.

Went up to Advancetown Hotel in the Gold Coast hinterland to see Angry Anderson perform, he was backed by a great Brisbane band called The Driving Conditions.
Angry may be a tad older than when I last saw him in the 70's but I can tell you time has not slowed this older rocker down.
