Now this show took me back to my surfing days at Bondi Beach and the music I grew up with. Great show put on by The Beach Boyz at South Tweed Sports Club. The first strum on the guitar had hardly been struck and the dance floor in front of the stage was full - and they were doing the twist, mashed potato, the swim, the monkey, the watusi to name just some of the old dance moves on display.

Great night, highly recommend, will certainly catch these guys again in the not too distant future

7,000 revellers turned up for the closing ceremony night of entertainment at the Pan Pacific Masters Games here on the Gold Coast. Getting the party going were Madison Kat, one of the Gold Coast's premier party bands and they had the house rocking and rolling into the early hours of the morning.

Hadn't seen the Mason Rack Band since Blues on Broadbeach and had been hanging out to see them again. And it was great seeing them again.

This band brings entertainment and audience participation in a live show to a whole new level. Will be watching out to catch these guys again real soon.

Another great TH!NK PINK show featuring Kylie L Clarke at RSL Club Southport. Kylie's likeness to Pink and her vocal presentation of Pink songs has to be seen and heard to be believed - uncanny is a word that comes to mind, and boy is she full of energy!

Kylie had the 500+ audience up out of their seats dancing in front of the stage, up the back and down the sides of the auditorium. This is one show that should not be missed when it comes to a town near you.

Opening for Steve Cummins and his Neil Diamond Superhits Show last night was this young lady, India Dupriez.

Accompanying India on keyboards was master musician Mark Watson.

At the young age of only 13, India showed all those present with her incredible voice that she indeed has a huge future ahead of her. It was indeed a privilege being able to take these photos.

Around 1800 people at Friday night's fun time party at the Pan Pacific Masters Games here on the Gold Coast were entertained by the incomparable sounds of Lisa Hunt. From the first song, Lisa had the audience captivated by her voice and she certainly got them involved both on the dance floor and on stage with her. Great night had by all.

Terrific evening listening to hits made famous by the legendary Stevie Nicks being performed by Lisa West and her band. Cabarita Beach Sports Club might be a small club but Lisa and the guys had the audience up and out of their seats dancing and singing along so some of the greatest tunes of our time. Look forward to catching this show again soon.

Here are a bunch of pics my wife Evelyn took Saturday night at Greg Andrew's "The Elton John Experience" show.

It's great having Evelyn shooting in the larger auditoriums, she is able to shoot from the back of the hall and get angles I am unable to cover when I am up front and close to the stage so this way we can cover most aspects on the night.

Well that was a show with Sir Mick strutting and pouting on stage while Keefy was doing the splits and all sorts of acrobatics - great show, great music and great memories of tunes I grew up with in the 60's and 70's. Playing in "The Big Room" at Twin Towns, Paul Hayman's show, Cloudland the Musical, thoroughly entertained a crowd of 900+ people. This wonderful concept show traced the history of the iconic home of music in Brisbane, Cloudland, through story, dance and song.

To the strains of tunes of a time gone by, the audience laughed and sung along to songs made famous by Normie Rowe, Buddy Holly, the Bee Gees, AC/DC, the Angels, Cold Chisel to name a few. Kudos to Paul on taking an idea and creating a show which was brilliantly choreographed by his wife, Kylie Wall.

What an incredible afternoon of live music at Nerang RSL with the incomparable Mental As Anything rocking the house of over 500+ punters. First saw this group back in 1976 in Sydney when I was completing my BA Dip Ed - and boy, did I get an education from these guys back then! And today, 43 years later, I was up there with the best of them moving to hypnotic sounds of Greedy Smith and his great band.

Opening for the Mentals was Gold Coast local Nick Waters who most certainly got the huge crowd into the mood for when Mental As Anything took to the stage.

"A popular urban myth concerns a group of art students who passed themselves off as a band in order to con the local publican into giving them a gig in exchange for free beer. The deception worked better than intended, and the group came to be known as Mental as Anything. Nearly two decades later, they are still irritating the public with their highly listenable, idiosyncratic brand of garage pop. A self-explanatory single to reflect their success, The Nips Are Getting Bigger, rose through the charts as did their fundamental understanding of the old adage that 'for every action there is a reaction'. Ahead lay a very lengthy pub crawl which only the accomplished could survive."

A big shout out to Nerang RSL for a truly memorable afternoon of live music on the Gold Coast.

Went down to South Tweed Sports club to see Wayne Vitale in his new "The David Bowie Show". Supported by the musicians from The Killer Queen band, Wayne was smoking hot with his performance, and he had the audience dancing along in front of the stage - would be fair to say the crowd took the hint when Wayne played the song "Let's Dance".

This was a terrific show and Wayne did a superb job as Bowie.

Another great night of Australian music by some of the best talent in Australia brought to you from the people at Made in Australia.

The evening featured three hours of iconic sounds made famous by Peter Garrett, Chrissy Amphlett and "Doc" Neeson.

If you closed your eyes and drifted into the clouds, the sounds you were listening to you would have sworn were those of Midnight Oil, The Divinyls and The Angels playing LIVE right there in front of you.

Saturday night saw me down the road at Nerang Bowls Club to see The Dynamics featuring Izzy (Isobel Hall) and Wazza (Warren Thomas). This was the second time this year I have seen them and most certainly was not disappointed.

Thoroughly enjoyable night of music, great vocals, fine guitarmanship (is there such a word? well there is now!). Covering Aus Rock, Classic Rock, Country and Modern Rock, was really fun, bopping along to tunes I had grown up with and even singing along - sorry for mucking up some of the lyrics.

BUT, the extra special bonus last night was when Jonathan Everett-Jones took to the stage and joined in on some tunes with his legendary harp playing - the same Jonathan Everett-Jones who in years gone by played with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Joe Cocker, Alexis Korner and Supertramp amongst others.

Exceptional show at this year's VIVA Surfers Paradise. John Hayhoe brought the music of John Lennon and The Beatles alive with the backing of the Killer Queen band.

John played a 75 minute concert set of Beatles, and predominantly John Lennon. The show received a standing ovation from the audience. Keep an eye out for this show!

Being someone who grew up with their music it would be fair to say I was in seventh heaven listening to tunes from the sixties and seventies that helped form the soundtrack of my life.
