Was great catching up with Nick Waters in a solo show on Sunday afternoon at Advancetown Hotel. Great session of songs I grew up with from the late 60's and 70's.
Nick is a terrific musician and showed everyone just how good he is playing both acoustic and electric guitar.
Put Nick down in your diary for when he comes your way either in a solo act or with his well known band, Captain WOW band.

Went down to South Tweed Sports club to see Wayne Vitale in his new "The David Bowie Show". Supported by the musicians from The Killer Queen band, Wayne was smoking hot with his performance, and he had the audience dancing along in front of the stage - would be fair to say the crowd took the hint when Wayne played the song "Let's Dance".
This was a terrific show and Wayne did a superb job as Bowie.

Taking me back to the 60's and 70's, these guys brought back to life the sounds I grew up with. How good was it hearing songs from The Stones, Beatles, CCR, Dobie Gray, CSNY, Eric Clapton, Sir Bob, Pink Floyd just to name a few.
And seeing all the people who turned up 'in character' for the show was something you had to see to believe.
Great night, great music. Will definitely be catching these guys again when they are next in town.

Now this show took me back to my surfing days at Bondi Beach and the music I grew up with. Great show put on by The Beach Boyz at South Tweed Sports Club. The first strum on the guitar had hardly been struck and the dance floor in front of the stage was full - and they were doing the twist, mashed potato, the swim, the monkey, the watusi to name just some of the old dance moves on display.
Great night, highly recommend, will certainly catch these guys again in the not too distant future

A bunch of photos from last night's fantastic Oils, Divinyls and Angels show at Seagulls.
Fantastic show played to a packed house - terrific music, great sound and lighting.
Great show last night with The Beatlegs at CSI Club Southport. These guys are the real deal, full of life and laughter on stage - and they had the full house on the dance floor from the first strum of the first song.
Listening to songs like "Hey Jude" and "She Loves You, Yea, Yea Yea" was great but the standout song for me again was "A Day In The Life".
This was the third time I have seen this group in the past three years and definitely look forward to seeing them again when next they are in town.

Got to catch The Triple J's for an hour or so last Sunday at Advancetown Hotel in the Gold Coast hinterland. Great music from some of the Gold Coast's most talented musicians.
Hadn't seen the Mason Rack Band since Blues on Broadbeach and had been hanging out to see them again. And it was great seeing them again.
This band brings entertainment and audience participation in a live show to a whole new level. Will be watching out to catch these guys again real soon.

Playing once again to a huge audience, the Rumours - The Australian Fleetwood Mac Experience had everyone bopping along to the tunes made famous by Fleetwood Mac over the years including Rhiannon, Sara, Tusk to name a few.
People were dancing in front of the stage, in the aisles and at the back of the auditorium - it is no wonder this show keeps getting rave reviews and is back each year - they are very popular.
A great show full of energy and again a show that brought back memories of our younger days through music we grew up with.
If they come your way well worth the effort of seeing them.

Some photos from Monday night's fun time party at the Pan Pacific Masters Games here on the Gold Coast where Captain WOW entertained around 1500 competitors after a day of competition. Great show with The Soul Men at the VIVA Surfers Paradise festival. These guys brought the Blues Brothers Tribute show to the Gold Coast and had the 500+ crowd singing and bopping along to the songs of that great movie and had the crowd begging for more - two hours of total entertainment. Well done Jake and Elwood.

When I heard earlier in the year that this show was coming to the Gold Coast I knew I had to see it. And James G Brennan, as the Boss, didn't disappoint. Been a Springsteen devotee for as long as I can remember and the band on Saturday night did full justice to what Bruce and his E String Band have brought us over the years.
Featuring James G Brennan Peter Ferguson Luke Williams Ash Higgins Jason Chandler & Adam Owens on the mighty sax!
My particular favourites were "The River" and "Jungleland", who can say NO to a bit of SAX and we got plenty of it in Saturday night's show. Will definitely catch James and his "Boss Experience" when they are next on the Gold Coast.

What a special night was that at RSL Club Southport last Saturday night where a FULL HOUSE of over 700 enjoyed The Ultimate Experience listening to the music of David Bowie, Elton John and Freddie Mercury as expertly presented by Wayne Vitale, Greg Andrew and John Blunt. It might only be the first month of the year but I have little doubt that show will prove to be THE SHOW of 2019. Was an honour and privilege being able to take photos last night.
In this album I have posted photos of Greg Andrew from the Elton John part of the show, I trust you will enjoy them

Around 1800 people at Friday night's fun time party at the Pan Pacific Masters Games here on the Gold Coast were entertained by the incomparable sounds of Lisa Hunt. Went down to see Paul Hayman present his '50 Years of Legends' show and boy, what a show this is - great songs from yesteryear performed by a great singer who is more than ably supported by Kylie Wall with some astounding dance moves. Rebecca O'Connor as Tina Turner is SIMPLY THE BEST. There are not enough superlatives to describe this show. If Tina Turner had a twin sister her name would be Rebecca O'Connor.
This was a show that had everything - great music, lots of energy, full-on audience participation - BUT, if you didn't know better you would have thought you were watching Tina Turner on stage.
Endorsed by both Tina Turner and Mick Fleetwood, you very quickly understand why this is so the moment Rebecca takes the stage.

Once again The Eagels Band showed why they are so popular playing to a SOLD OUT show at RSL Club Southport. Their harmonies and musicianship on stage had the full house on their feet singing and dancing along to songs of yesteryear, songs that have stood the test of time.
It was great watching these guys on stage interact not just with the audience but with each other and boy, did they have fun on stage as can be seen in many of the photos.

Terrific show with The Jacksonz at RSL Club Southport. Brilliant harmonies and great dance moves on stage. Here are a bunch of pics my wife Evelyn took Saturday night at Greg Andrew's "The Elton John Experience" show.
It's great having Evelyn shooting in the larger auditoriums, she is able to shoot from the back of the hall and get angles I am unable to cover when I am up front and close to the stage so this way we can cover most aspects on the night.
