A beautiful day in the neighborhood where my wife and I live.

Before heading home to spend the evening with my wife, I snapped a few pictures of the beautiful sunset in Fairmont, NC this evening.

I love finding old farmhouses and barns that sit only a few feet from rural roads. How times have changed.

The River Ouse and Lendal Bridge in York caught in a winter’s sun. The river is calm with reflections in the water and birds and ducks play. A winter sky is above.

Autumn colors on a crepe myrtle that is on the edge of the property where my wife and I reside.

So, this just happened. Heard the constant calling & discovered the baby in my backyard pecan tree. I didn't know they could call without opening their beak but he was just filling his throat with air & sending out the whistle while I watched. Begging for a parent to come feed it. While in mid call (see throat) a gust of wind almost blew it off the perch, barely managed to hang on.

While hiking with a fellow photo friend, I spied this branch in the middle of a mini-waterfall. I love waterblur as it is, especially with stationery objects contrasting the lovely waterblur.

As my wife and I were waking up this morning, I noticed the beautiful colors in the morning sky.

Snapped a few pictures at night of the crepe myrtle my wife and I have in our yard.

It was a hot day today but the sun was shining. I decided to take a few pictures around the property where my wife and I reside. Pictured here are tree branches and clouds in the sky.

Even though it's mid December, my wife and I are still experiencing signs of autumn here in North Carolina.

If you ever wondered how would wisdom look in nature it might just look like this oldtimer...

My wife and I spent some time visiting Luther Britt Park this afternoon.

It was a cold, but beautiful January day. I snapped this picture on the edge of a wooded area in the neighborhood where my wife and I reside.

I missed out on the trip to the Bronx Zoo a few weeks ago because I was ill.... I got to go there yesterday though!! I had a blast!! I will probably bore you all with some of those shots for next week or so.... Sorry in advance......

Personally, I think that this is much better when Viewed On Black.

A beautiful Mississippi Kite sits on a dead tree branch, with a bug in his beak, calling to a female that is in another tree. Unfortunately, she didn't accepted his offering while I was watching.

Setting sun, and tree silhouette on the property where my wife and I reside.

Taken yesterday, December 10, from my window during a Nor'easter storm, that provided a bit of snow, after 2 days of rain. The ground is still too warm for the snow to accumulate, but you can see the accumulation on the parked car--and on top of the square box, which is an air-quality sensor!

(Not that it can improve air quality...)

As my wife and I were beginning our Saturday, I noticed the beautiful sunrise colors in the sky and snapped a few pictures.

April 25, 2022 - "Founded in 1342, the Grote Kerk in Veere was originally known as Onze Lieve Vrouw Ter Snow. It was built as a late-gothic cross-basilica, with a tower that was supposed to become 100 meters high. The building was designed by the well-known master builders Spoorwater and Keldermans. These families also built the cathedral of Mechelen, the Markiezenhof in Bergen of Zoom and the town halls of Leuven and Middelburg.

The Grote Kerk is a great symbol of the ambitions, courage and perseverance of the county of Zeeland. However, the tower was never competed and all the treasures have disappeared over the years. So an empty building remains, but it is filled with wonderful stories.

After the English and French sieges, the Grote Kerk loses its religious role. It became a military hospital, a workshop for beggars, a storage space and emergency stables for cattle during the deliberate flooding in the Second World War and during the Flood Disaster in 1953. No matter how badly damaged the church was, it continued to provide drinking water to the citizens of Veere until after the Second World War. The large roof and the ancient cistern collected the water. The church was also a secret place for the wife of the vicar to go cycling. It was even used as a covered football pitch and an amply sized market hall.

At the end of the 19 th century, the church was rescued from being demolished by Victor de Steurs. He announced this building as the very first National Monument in the Netherlands. Today the Grote Kerk is owned by Stichting Monumenten Bezit, which is part of the Dutch National Monuments Organisation. Other buildings in Zeeland that are also part of the Stichting Monumenten Bezit are: Oostkerk in Middelburg, Sint Bavo in Aardenburg, Sint Lievensmonster tower in Zierikzee and the Scottisch houses in Veere. The Grote Kerk in Veere is now a visitors' experience and a venue for art, culture and meeting new people." “One wonders…”

Just how bad and cruel does a pirate captain have to be to make his rogue criminal crew mutiny, murder him, cut off his head, and stake it on a branch on some unknown isolated island somewhere on the beach where no one will find him?

I love that so many different kinds of sparrows come here for the winter. This one has a cute little pink beak.
