Here are some very colorful trees in their fall colors, found on a walk up Provo Canyon. I was struck by how contrasting the reds, yellows, and pinks of the trees were compared to the dull gray of the cliff and sky in the background.

Near Mogshade pond

Took this capture from last evening and within LR removed all color less the RED channel. Then played with the tone mapping within LR to give the remaining B&W a little more pop.

Another snowstorm, this one gave us a lot more moisture and about 10" (25cm) of sloppy snow. We are thankful.

This is Mike, of Mike's "tree farm" on Long Island, NY

Mike said that has owned this land for a long time and makes his living growing and selling trees. He knows each variety and it's properties and can cut one down in less than a minute with a hand saw.

Another shot from my trip to Newton Woods with Dave Relph last week. It was such a lovely night to be out with the camera.

I know these types of images were popular a few years ago, but they're new to me...lol. ;o) So I'm delving into the archives to give it a whirl so to speak! Bear with me!

I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD

It's no secret! I do love trees! Even though these had already dropped most of their leaves they sure looked stunning against the clouds!

Fun Facts ~ This October is the fifth warmest October on record for Denver. We have enjoyed 70-80 degree temperatures with only a few days that needed a jacket. And not one single flake of snow! That has only happened 17 times since weather records have been kept. Our first snowfall averages the middle of October. We all know that when the other shoe drops, it will drop hard and we will plummet swiftly into winter, but this warm sunshine is pretty awesome!

This driveway is just down the road from my house. As you can see, the sun was really low here. Golden light and long shadows.
