Goldiger Herbst 2017 im Pizol, Schweiz

Ich vermisse jetzt schon das flache Licht und die wundervollen Herbstfarben. Dafür werden wir jetzt mit viel Schnee und Nebel verwöhnt.

Wise County, TX—OCT 9, 2010

Bois d'arc tree bearing a plentiful crop of "horse apples" (not to be confused with "road apples").

Stumbled across Peter's trees the other day, couldn't resist a shot.

Glennifer Braes.

I was reminded of this place from some excellent shots taken by Neo7Geo , so I thought I would go up and take a look for myself. It didn't disappoint, some interesting shots to be taken up there.

A long range shot of some Welsh Woodland lit up magnificently last week.

A crop from a much bigger 3:2 shot that I think works better in High Res on a big screen. This is the abridged version for the mobile generation.

Tuesday morning, Isham Park, New York

In southern New Zealand the rata tree flowers bright red just before Christmas. I wish all my friends and contacts a few days of joy ahead and hope to see you all in 2015.

Part of the Buttermere day out, first shot of the day and it's a view that never disappoints.

I'd literally just finished packing the gear back into my backpack when low and behold four F-15's decided now was the time to roar down the valley and disappear off up Honister Pass. I repeat, I had literally just put all the camera gear back into my bag ready to move on further down the lake. I would normally have been really annoyed but the noise and the speed, just made me grin like a little child again. What a sight and what a sound, I'll get 'em next time! Mandy had her camera out though.... still waiting to see her shots of the jets....

Were some of my favorites last year. I'm not even sure if they're a kind of cherry or plum or even apple, but they were gorgeous.

The Frazinus Quadrangulata is known as the Blue Ash Tree. Its native range is in North America from Michigan south to Arkansas and Tennessee. The height is about 50 to 75 feet once fully grown and can spread from 35 to 60 feet wide. It blooms between April to May and is usually a purple accent color. It needs very little maintenance and is tolerance of deer and droughts. It grows easily in dry to medium wet, well-drained soils. This is considered to be one of the best ashes for dry sites. The wood of blue ash is commonly used to products including tool handles and furniture. One major problem with this tree is the Emerald Ash Borer. The borer will kill an ash tree typically within 3 to 5 years after infestation. This pest is hard to kill off due to the fact that it feeds under the bark and bores into the wood.

A second try at HDR processing. I like the outcome of this better than the first.

It looks better on a black background.

Our 'Christmas trees" are a pretty sight this year. So called "Christmas tree" due to the colours of the flowers and that it flowers this time of the year.

"Festive fact: The Western Australian Christmas Tree, pictured here, is the world's largest species of mistletoe. Australia has over 90 species of mistletoe, compared to only one native to the UK and much of Europe. " www.facebook.com/CSIROPUBLISHING
