Sinker's and Kristen's wedding on the farm near Gettysburg.

This is an odd little tree that sits atop the Crown Range, one of the two roads that leads from Queenstown to Cardrona and Wanaka. A very dangerous road during winter, but spectacular during summer. On the day in question, I was recruited on a crazy photography adventure by a very close family friend, Kaye. While spending time with her horses down the road, she insisted we make a trip to the top of the Crown Saddle and get a photo of this tree... So we did!

The crown range is one of the highest sealed roads in New Zealand, at 1076m high. The stone sculpture you see in the middle of the frame holds a plaque to recognise this. Just over the rise, the road begins its wind down to Cardrona and finally reaches Wanaka.

Support from friends and family in tough times is a priceless resorce... During the week this was taken, my family was out of town and I really didnt have a lot to do. but Kaye and her family took me in and gave me pleanty to do and keep me busy. Keeping busy is essential to stop ones mind wandering!

Processing this was a little tricky, and I took my time finding the right balance of subject matter and color. It's also interesting given that mosp people look the opposite direction towards Queenstown while taking photos! Its that old story, you should always look behind you for that cool shot that would normally slip by...

This photo was taken just down the road at Cardrona if you would care to take a look:

I drove around searching for a nursery that had colored blossoms, but the only ones that I was able to find were these pretty white ones. I really love the lines that I get when shooting nursery stock.
