Tower Transit route 23: Liverpool Street Station - Westbourne Park
Approaching Alderson Street (J)
Assumed the only Plaxton Presidents still operative were the 52-reg TN-classed buses TN33197-99. But then seeing TN33185 late this summer, I wonder what other old buses First London left in their backyard to Tower Transit's interest.

The reason why this bus has no logo and has been considered to be withdrawn since it appears on neither First London or Tower Transit fleet list databases is because First London loaned this vehicle to Tower Transit as a logistical spare. The TNs are proving to be popular with the First London Australian successor, hence the vehicles being more commonly seen on their routes since First London's departure. However, it does not seem the drivers feel the same way as Tower Transit do about the Dennis Tridents ...

Ottawa, unlike Montreal and Toronto, has opted for a transitway instead of a subway system. The transitway is a 36 km. loop of bus only roads around the city of Ottawa. The enclosed pedestrian bridge, in the background, is at ground level while the transitway is submerged. It's a private submerged road built only for the use of buses. So no traffic tie-ups with cars and trucks.

I had never seen a multi-segmented 'trolley bus' as seen above until I moved to Ottawa.
Skies were overcast here and this image came out dark as shot. Using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, I cranked up the 'fill light' function and increased the 'black' to compensate. That gave a brighter look and offered more details on the roadway surface. I cut the colours blue and purple to a minimum giving a gray look to the transitway's excavated walls.
Street photography. It's my hobby. Hope you enjoy. My favourite way check out Mikey G Ottawa's latest Flickr images is using the Flickr Slideshow function. This link below will always start from my most recent Flickr image. I like to set it on slow speed and full-screen.

in the depths of the munich u-bahn, a woman strides with purpose, her small dog trotting alongside. the map of the transit system looms large on the wall, a backdrop to this everyday journey. the bright lights cast a clinical glow, accentuating the lines and textures of the underground. a safety line, stern and unyielding, separates their path from the tracks, a silent guardian of order and caution. this snapshot captures a moment of routine, a fleeting slice of life set against the structured chaos of urban transit.

There's a charter and special-events outfit called Transit Systems Inc., and its fleet consists of mostly retired Southern California transit vehicles. The windows signal this was a former RTD/Metro RTS from circa 1988. This was taken outside of the North Hollywood Red and Orange lines stations.

First London Fleet No.RM1913 ALD 913B an AEC Routemaster with Park Royal H36/28R bodywork that was new to London Transport in 1964.
It remained in service with London Transport until it was withdrawn from London in 1985.
It then passed to Clydeside Scottish Omnibuses as No.263 and later operated with Western Scottish Omnibuses as No.PC78.
It was then sold to an owner from Halifax for preservation
In 2000/2001 it was one of 43 Routemasters bought by London Bus Services. It was refurbished by Marshall Buses in Cambridge, repainted into London red and fitted with a new Dennis Dart engine for further use by RATP London Sovereign on route 13.
It was withdrawn by RATP London Sovereign in October 2005 and returned to London Bus Services.
In November 2005 it was selected as one of the few Routemasters to continue in service in London on Kensington High Street to Trafalgar Square, Heritage Route 9H by First London.
In June 2013 First ceased its operations in London, the Heritage Route 9H and the 10 Routemasters used on it (Including RM1913) were passed to new London operator Tower Transit (Part of The Transit Systems Group).
In July 2014 Tower Transit ceased operating Route 9H.
RM1913 is currently being stored at Tower Transit's Westbourne Park Bus Garage along with the other 9 Routemasters.
It is seen here approaching Trafalgar Square, London on Heritage Route 9H.
