Tower Transit route 23: Liverpool Street - Westbourne Park
Burwood Place (EK)
Once upon a time ... I make myself sound old. Around five years ago, I'm sure these used to be allocated to Westbourne Park (X) routes 23 and 295 until was teefed by the outstation of Atlas Road (AS) for route 328 back in October 2012 (which seems not so long ago to me), around the same time First London were testing newer vehicles on their Atlas Road (AS) Volvo B7TL allocated routes. Ever since allocation to route 328, I have seen these reappear on the 23 from time to time. Clock maddaman attempting a rude finger gesture at the camera - bait man out quick time!

It's quite difficult to spot the one bus with white displays on route 25. Finally managed to encounter the bus with a photo opportunity!

Tower Transit route W14: Woodford Bridge - Leyton, Superstores
Leyton Mills (F)
Three loaned Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLF buses (DP42600-602) were supposed to be introduced to the extended route 308 last Saturday, however they have strayed onto Walthamstow-prefixed routes W14 and W15, the former pictured on stand in Leyton Mills outside Leyton ASDA, with a few other superstores including Morrison's around. This week saw these loaned Plaxton Pointer 2 buses make appearances on their allocated route. More to come soon.

Tower Transit route 339: Shadwell Station (DLR) - Leytonstone Station
Stratford City Bus Station (S)
My evening increased captivation when this turned up; my favourite bus type, the Dennis Dart Marshall Capital. Although it's not the same without the yellow First London logo, when the bus started moving it left me feeling sentimental, its engine reminiscent of the Dennis Dart Marshall Capitals that used to serve the 28, 31, 328 (when they were single-decker routes) and of course the 187.
Last time a Dennis Dart Marshall Capital made me feel sentimental was actually last summer when I took a ride on-board the same Marshall Capital pictured; my schedule did not allow even one digressive ride on this bus, although I would have really liked to. I believe the route has also been extended to Leytonstone Station.

Tower Transit route 444: Chingford Station - Turnpike Lane, Bus Station
Departed Chingford Station (B), towards Station Road / Chingford Station (E)
Tower Transit purchased WV46101-46111 for Lea Interchange (LI) route 444 when they won the route from Arriva London earlier this year.
These are interesting buses. They have a different engine sound to all other Wright StreetLites in London, Daimler the engine supplier for all StreetLites with Euro 6 spec. The buses drive like a Volvo B5LH with quicker gear changes.
While they might not be the most comfortable Wright StreetLites in London, they are definitely better in driveline which is devoid of the infamous flatulence within the suspension upon braking accustomed to previous StreetLites with Go-Ahead London.
The WVs are very good buses that suit their route excellently and out of Tower Transit's first three tender wins, I highly recommend the 444 over the 212 and 488.

Tower Transit route 328: Golders Green Station - Chelsea, World's End
Approaching Chippenham Road / Shirland Road (MM)
The Chippenham routes have been diverted for quite some time, now. The diverted route has changed a few times: left instead of right onto Shirland Road to serve a longer duration of Elgin Avenue, and this one, the old routing for routes 31 and 328 on Malvern Road straight onto Chippenham Road.
This used to be my favourite section of route 328 when it had Marshall Capitals as the road surface was not smooth but provided a thrilling drive along it, nevertheless. Here's one of the remaining buses from the route's preceding allocation exiting Malvern Road for Chippenham Road.

Tower Transit route 295: Clapham Junction - Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's
Cambridge Gardens / Ladbroke Grove (K)
According to the vehicle history data shown on the London Vehicle Finder for route 295, these buses allocated to routes 28, 31 and 328 occasionally make appearances on the 295 and are not rare. I have not seen this working before, so it's quite new to me.

Electric Buses!
Fleet No MO 8395, City bound via Martin Place. An electric bus, taken on the corner of Pitt Street and Rawson Place. Sydney is gradually replacing its fleet of buses with the electric variety. The result? Cleaner air, and a quieter service. A sure winner for this chap!

Last year, route 28 was greeted with a few Enviro400 (DN) buses from route 23 during the Notting Hill Carnival. Today, it was a bit boring but still nice to see a newer version of its allocated Volvo B7TLs, Volvo B9TLs from route 266, cover duties on the 28.

Tower Transit route 488: Bromley-by-Bow, Tesco - Dalston Junction
Hancock Road (V)
Route 488 was awarded to Tower Transit from Stagecoach: East London earlier this year. Formerly allocated to Bow (BW), the route is now operated from Lea Interchange (LI) and is allocated DMV45101-45111.
A smooth driveline is just as rewarding as the looks of the bus, Tower Transit first revealing their primarily green and grey interior colours with these buses. The driver suggested the buses look good from the outside but are not as good inside because there is too much movement required from steering to drive the bus properly.

It took me until uploading the photo to notice the driver grinning at the camera towards his curtailment to Homerton Hospital! The driver was closely following another W15 going towards the official terminus at Hackney Sainsbury's, just around the corner from Hackney Town Hall on Mare Street.

The Masters Meet is the title to my new article. This photo exposes the Routemaster's rear open platform with a conductor (out of sight) onboard, with a Borismaster alongside with its rear door closed. Although this defeats the purpose of promoting Borismasters having rear open platforms, you can see resemblances with the curves and of course the same route number. The conversion is seemingly unnecessary with the conductors absent, however you may be surprised to hear that I absolutely loved my experience.
