With the sound of curlew calling overhead, the tranquility of a Cummersdale mid-summer's evening is momentarily broken and a crow is disturbed as Direct Rail Services 37423 'Spirit of the Lakes' and 37409 'Lord Hinton' growl along the jointed track towards Currock Junction just before 9.00pm with three 'FNA' wagons and flasks in tow, the 6C46 19:11 Sellafiield to Carlisle Kingmoor on Wednesday 16th June 2013. A magical evening to be out and about.

A late sunset long exposure, beautiful colors and the calm sound of the waves lapsing the shore.

Taken in Swaledale in The Yorkshire Dales. This is East Gill Force waterfall. Not a Huge waterfall but set in a stunning location.

A calm twilight last night, follow 98 Avenue to the downtown core.

When I was staying in Yangshuo at the Holland Inn which was an old farmers house turned into a mini hotel I rented a bike and drove for 4 hrs. I am not sure how I made it back but lets just say 2 weeks later my ass is still killing me. The one thing I noticed while biking on a dirt raod along the river was the amount of chinese tourists on the river on bamboo rafts. It was inane where I could not even take pictures as I felt it was ugly, I can also imagine the strain on the river with so many boats and people on it everyday!!! When I went there 12 years ago everything was so pure and clean but today my heart bleeds for this natural beauty of land. I was lucky to get couple of shots with no tourists on the water from the Dragon Bridge, Yangshuo.

I had to make the alarm to ring at 5:00 am from usual 7:30.. and had to climb over the tank on the terrace to get his better view, but the clouds cheated us.. sunchettan failed to show his face and disappointed us all.

....for my good friend, Ge, ( i_travel_east)...a true artist... thank you for your friendship and unending support...I may not have a great photo to offer, that's worthy of your genius...but this one really expresses the way i feel about your photographs...a mixture of emotions.. of tranquility and struggle...and the beauty and darkness of life....

Sometimes, one just needs some time alone, with himself and the sea, to think, to ponder or to just clear his head.

The sea can provide all that.

The simplicity of lines and color makes for a tranquil scene.

I passed by this lake traveling home from a day trip to Mt Rainier. I've driven past this lake several times, but this day, this moment, the conditions were magical. I instantly turned the car around and captured this photo.

I was trying out some new techniques on a photo I took a while ago.

Captured this beautiful pink water lily at Penn State's Arboretum this morning. Lots of gorgeous water lilies are blooming. It was fun to try to get good pictures...although difficult with a 6 year old dragging my arm in impatience!

So here's something you don't normally see on my photostream - wildlife!

I was amazed to see this beautiful Heron on the banks of the Kennet & Avon canal at the weekend - it wasn't at all bothered with me wandering around taken photos. I love the reflection from the perfectly still water and how amazingly sharp the Fuji X 55-200mm lens is.
