A paradise far from any topical beach, this is how I would describe the Alpsee lake in the Ostallgäu district of Bavaria, Germany.
A cool casual stroll around the Edgbaston Reservoir, with some of the members of the Birmingham Photography Meetup Group, on this Sunday, that as gone by, in which I spotted this Chap, sitting down on a bench, with his headphones on and rocking restfully in the sunshade, with his bicycle by his side and miring the tranquillity view of the waters on the Reservoir.
And all this just from the day after me coming back from my week Holiday break in Ilfracombe... What a beautiful harmony and combination of him, that I was thinking to myself here. Of how one, can just sit comfortably and just enjoy the deep sense of life Tranquil feeling, that's by listening to is music through his headphones, and then with his trusted steed of a bicycle, one can ride off into the sunset here!
I really enjoyed my week's Holiday break in Ilfracombe and the places I visited around there, of Bideford, Dunster, Minehead, Lynton & Lynmouth, which is situated on the North Coast of Devon noted for its high sea cliffs, within the Exmoor National Park noted for its breathtaking natural beauty and unspoilt landscape!
And also, Woolacombe, which is very popular with surfers and also, Barnstaple, is an ancient market town lying on the River Taw.
So my Flickr friends, I will kick off with this one first, while I am catching up with you, and seeing your new work, that I have missed... I have got many new photos to sort out and share with you on here, over the next coming weeks!

The life of Daniel Herbert can be divided exactly into two halves. The first 33 years are stormy and filled with unrelenting hardship. For a man of so much talent and intellect, the emotional and psychic pain was almost too great to bear. But the next 33 years he lived in Ross allowed him to fulfil many of his hopes and to find the love, acceptance and freedom he so deeply craved. Tranquility had arrived at last.
And so it is fitting to look again upon his masterpiece and see it in the golden light it deserves. Vale Daniel Herbert. We never knew you, and yet you speak to us still. Thank you.
But for the residents of Ross today, the battle to save the Ross Bridge from the further erosions of time continues. It is well worth reading of some of their struggles in this short article. We cannot allow a work of art like this to perish with neglect.

I can't remember the name of this small port ... perhaps one of my contacts knows? June ... this is taken in your neighbourhood ... is this called Lamholmen, SVOLVÆR?
Thank you for helping me locate the photo!
O... Dear Mind,
Your calm facade,
A mask that belies
The torrents beneath...
Oppressive turbulence
And distracting thoughts,
Though untold truth,
Should be stilled!
Conquer the distance
Between mind and heart,
Regain serenity,
An unenviable task.
Life is fleeting
Like a bursting bubble,
Here we are today,
Gone tomorrow...
Make life brighter,
Be it momentary,
Weather out the storm
In an island of tranquility!
