The last of the sunset yesterday over a partially frozen bay...I loved how the ice and the still water reflected the colors in the sky differently.

Yet again the land of Kashmir and the waters of Dal lake mesmerised me with the calmness of its natural meadows and the sparkling waters. No wonder it is called the God's Own Land' !

The other day, my melancholy and I were breeze-drinking by the seaside. We laughed about this, and we cried about that. I poignantly noted that we are all created to eventually erode and fade. Mortality is just a full circle where the stillness of before-birth comes alive again after death. She, my melancholy, nodded to these fuzzy thoughts and said, “But in between, I am your tranquility.”

I looked away. The sea fog was rolling in.

Technical notes: This image was created by stitching three vertical shots made with –ahem– my new tilt-shift lens, a self-celebration. I drove up to the coast to try this new lens and came back utterly enthralled by its abilities. This lens doesn’t zoom, and no, neither does it autofocus. It needs old-school manual focusing, a rusty habit from decades ago that I was very happy to revive. Most photographers use tilt-shift lens to straighten buildings or create miniature effects. I used it to make this panorama without having to worry about parallax.

An early long exposure in Cape Hatteras. The Outer Banks has so much to see and photograph. I chose this simple composition because the morning light created such a peaceful and simple mood.

taken at Morfa Neyfn bay Wales. Once one of the largest natural harbours in the uk bustling with ships. Now a peaceful village with a pub right on the beach and no (or very few) cars allowed.

It must be a tranquil morning somewhere, the place you are at.

This is the superb view from Stanage Edge which is located in the High Peak area of the Peak District Nation Park. It was an incredibly windy February afternoon but always worth the hike up.

12A disturbs the tranquility of a glorious spring morning as it rolls across the School Road level crossing, just outside Menzies Creek station, with a wood collection train to Gembrook.

Color spectacle on the Vesterålen. Just imagine: Just you alone with the wind, the sky, the clear air and the soft tinkling of the sheep bells.

Farbspektakel auf den Vesterålen. Stell dir vor: Nur du allein mit dem Wind, dem Himmel, der klaren Luft und dem leisen Klingeln der Schafsglocken.

Sit awhile and enjoy.
