Today Rebecca and I walked along the train tracks for awhile.
Then we went to iHop and I was really indecisive like I always am
and in the end I wanted what she got but I got stuffed french toast instead.
Then we went to her house again and her mom gave me more noodles
and some funny-looking cheese and she showed me a drawing that Rebecca
drew when she was four years old, in which her brother perfectly resembled a penis.
Countryside CSX Railroad abandoned track.
This is probably one of the nicest crossings left, all metal plating.
Some of the other crossings were paved over sometimes directly over the rails & wood which has created hazardous travel to say the least over a short period of time due to the upheaval of asphalt, very poor & very likely against code.
It would be quite easy, especially for the unsuspecting motorist, to inflict major damage to their vehicle.
This was shot in burst mode from 150 - 200 yards away, and there are no added effects or processing other than "auto levels" in Photoshop. I love the watercolor look.
The Ouroboros or Uroborus[a] is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail.
The Ouroboros often represents self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end (compare with phoenix). It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting from the beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished. While first emerging in Ancient Egypt, the Ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism, but has also been frequently used in alchemical illustrations, where it symbolizes the circular nature of the alchemist's opus. - from Wikipedia
I got up at 5:00 one morning this fall to shoot a sunrise at a local state park. On my way there I crossed a bridge over these train tracks and noticed a hint of the dawns early light glowing on the rails of the tracks. I turned around and set up to see what the mornings light might bring.
As the mornings glow over took the darkness I was treated to the magical colors on the rails which led back to the light.
I chose the quote at the bottom of the photo as a tribute to those photographers who drag themselves out of bed in the darkness with hopes of capturing something magical, whether its a sunrise, a buck crossing a field or the silhouette of a farm scape. Happy shooting !

leave me anything.
Some folks say I have a one track mind. Might be true if'n you count capturing beauty where ever I find it. : )
Shelley and I were trackin' down an elusive waterfall we heard tell about, and this pretty hobo and her bf were going the other way. She happily demonstrated her prowess as I happily snapped a few. : )
