Great place for gravel biking - nice combo of on- and off-road - but a lot of the best stuff is tucked away. Took a fair bit of effort to get here - finding the hole in the fence, hoisting the bike over a barrier and under concertina wire, then down an embankment of broken concrete. But wow, these tracks!
One of the small towns we visited on our Sunday explorations. Delaplane encompasses some of North America's oldest fox hunting territory, and from 1932 to 1945 Delaplane's Cobbler Mountain range hosted many of General George S. Patton's fabled escapades with his Cobbler Fox Hounds club. Patton was Master of fox hounds until his military transfer to Hawaii in 1935, and the club was disbanded ten years later upon receiving news of his untimely death in Heidelberg, Germany. Today Piedmont Fox Hounds based in The Plains, the oldest fox hunting club in the United States, still hunts Delaplane's rustic, stone wall lined terrain; as do Orange County Hunt based in Middleburg and Old Dominion Hounds.
... the photographer was very brave too and overcame a childhood fear of train tracks to take the shot. OK, it's a trundly tourist train track but still... belly down on the ground, on train tracks!!! 😁
Walking The Dog..
A frosty morning in October was the perfect morning for a walk. The ground was covered in frost and it was chilly and super sunny as the sunrise crested the horizon. ahead of me a man walked his dog down the edge of the tracks.

Still gonna be pretty busy for the next couple of weeks, but I hopin to be able to get out a lot more from now on,
It's been way to long for both of us, and when I grabbed the camera tonight the Pup had a huge grin on his face.
Will try and catch up with you all as I can.

What to do, when you have 30 minutes to kill at the train station at Geneva Aeroport? That's not hard to figure out, when you have a brand new camera in the bag.
