Last weekend's photo contest: I entered my Greer Spring photo and my Topaz Mill photo. Greer Spring won First Place and Topaz Mill won Third Place. Several contestants brought in STACKS of framed photos, so I guess there wasn't any limit to how many photos one could enter. : ) There were a LOT of great photos there!

I was drawn to this by the color and "derail" sign, but I really like it now that I see it's Engine No. 7. My birthday is 07/07 (guess what year, my friends). In my small town, where the nearly sole employer was a lumber mill, there was a train we called "old number 7". That engine is now parked at the Camp 6 Logging Museum in Tacoma, Washington. Photo as taken with just a slight tilt and sharpening.

In May 2000 Dad and Mom came out to North Dakota for my wedding and Dad naturally took the opportunity to do some railfanning. Here three days before the wedding he caught the westbound Empire Builder with two P40DCs (built as P40DCs and rebuilt in 1998 to P42 specs) and an F40PH in the lead.
