Much of the Appalachian Trail that winds through Pennsylvania is moderately dangerous littered with rocks of all sizes. It may take over an hour to go one mile.
The Botkin Trail in the Yalta Nature Reserve is one of the most famous hiking trails in the Crimean Mountains. Its length from Kirov Street to the top of Stavri-Kay aMount is 4.5 kilometers.
The Botkin Trail route was created in 1901 for tuberculosis patients. They could take wellness walks here, so it is also called the "Health Trail". In these places, the phytoncides of the coniferous forest are mixed with the sea breeze, which creates a positive effect for the treatment of lung diseases.
Professor Sergey Botkin was one of the most famous physicians in Russia in the second half of the 19th century. He received the title of academician and the position of physician of the royal family. Since 1870, he has been studying the climate of the Southern coast of Crimea and made a huge contribution to the popularization of recreation and the development of sanatoriums in the Crimea. He was the first to note the healing properties of the air on the Southern coast of Crimea for the treatment of lung diseases.
While canoeing, we discovered this lovely little canal that is a trail through the park at Lake Kegonsa State Park, WI
Bluff trail towards what Apple maps calls Arroyo de la Cruz beach. I think the GPS map is roughly accurate. If you find a copy of the map to the Pt Sierra Nevada trail, the parking lot is the south trailhead to this (sometimes obscure and unmaintained) trail. PM me if you want route-finding help.
Wow. What an iris! I continue to be amazed at the macro capabilities of my iphone. The Wizards of Cupertino!
CSX train M416-05 was at Harper's Ferry crossing the Potomac River and exiting Maryland.
Landfall is made and the westbound is now in West Virginia. This daily manifest runs between Rocky Mount, North Carolina and terminates in Cumberland, Maryland.
The good stuff (EMDs) were of course trailing the GE.

Amsterdam: Trying to get some light trails on the canal. Unfortunately it was not that busy, more luck on the road.
Contrails or vapour trails are line-shaped clouds produced by aircraft engine exhaust or changes in air pressure, typically at aircraft cruising altitudes several miles above the Earth's surface. Contrails are composed primarily of water, in the form of ice crystals...l have always been fascinated by them but never took a photo of them ..
Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.

I'm so glad I got out when the colours of autumn were in their finest. We had a storm on Friday night that blew most of the leaves off the trees and knocked out our power yesterday.
Cragway Trail, Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina, NC
There was some nice color to be seen looking east back down the trail.
Thanks to all who take the time to visit and comment on my photo stream....it's greatly appreciated. Also for all of the invitations to join or post my photos into groups
Car light trails at night on I-66 (Custis Memorial Parkway), shot from the N. Lynnn Street overpass in Rosslyn (Arlington), Virginia. (10/7/2017)
So inviting are the coloured leaves that have fallen upon the trail of blaze, not to forget also how awesome these leaves smell in the forest.

This is my 1st Bobcat trail cam pic this year. It looks young and very healthy. Just in the last week we've had the following visitors at our water. Doe, Buck, Fawn, Jackrabbit. Raven, various songbirds, Momma cow and her baby Bull, Fox, and Bobcat
Aside from the famous Iguassu Falls, the 6km walking trails on the Argentinean side had incredible surroundings, mainly consisting of forrest, water or more water..... And when lucky, some wildlife too. In few hours, I did see many kinds of butterflies, birds, toucans, gang of coatiks who snatched and ate somebody's lunch, a crocodile, a monkey downing a carton of juice (also snatched) and to top it of a little snake (my least favourite)
The Park Avenue Trail is one of the first major attractions within Arches National Park. It is a one-mile trail that follows the bottom of a canyon at the feet of some of the gigantic, and well-known monoliths of interesting formation protruding from the canyon walls.
The Three Gossips, the Courthouse Towers, Queen Nefertiti and Queen Victoria Rock, the Organ, and the Tower of Babel are all visible from the road as visitors drive up towards Balanced Rock and Delicate Arch, but there is a large difference in experience when actually hiking through them.
This short out and back trail heads north down a wide canyon flanked by towering rock walls and spires. These impressive formations are reminiscent of skyscrapers and buildings that shape Manhattan, hence the name 'Park Avenue'.
The trail drops from the trailhead on a steep set of stone stairs (seeing in the foreground) to the wide canyon floor. The dirt path is soon predominantly sandstone as you travel down the widening canyon mouth.
Thank you for your comments,
Gemma

Jefferson County, Nebraska. This is Fairbury’s old Rock Island Railroad bridge, which spans the Little Blue River at the Fairbury dam site. It is Fairbury’s newest fitness trail, built in 2006. Beautiful.
