The portion of the Grandview Trail up near the rim of the Grand Canyon had quite a bit of snow and ice on the trail. Luckily the farther down into the canyon we got, the less snow. The Grandview Trail was originally constructed by miners to connect copper mines with the rim. It is steep with drop offs on one side. But the views of the canyon were amazing!
Car light trails - A87 north of Sligachan
I was driving 'home' around sunset after my visit to Sligachan and saw that view of the Old Mann so pulled over to shoot it. In so doing I noticed passing vehicles had their lights on and with the bend where I was stopped and that up ahead I thought there might be the potential for some light trails. A bit of experimenting with shutter speeds (and the rest of the Exposure triangle) later....and here you go!

A 30 minute long exposure during a trip at Tzoumerka, Epirus (Greece). It's my first exposure lasting over 10 minutes, and the result just fascinated me!

They don't call northern Nova Scotia the Sunrise Trail for nothing. Sunrise on my first day at Malagash.
Pretty much a shock to see snow falling this time of year though as it clung onto the trees it truly was magic to hike this spring snowy trail.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul....Darrell.

History beneath our feet; Heaven above us
A landscape photograph capturing the rugged and barren mountain range of the Sinai desert around the area of Mount Moses and Saint Catherine's Monastery.
A trekking moment on the trails leading up to the mountain, highlighting the dramatic, arid scenery and the sense of peace found in this high-altitude mountain basin.
The area is characterized by barren, reddish-brown rock formations and steep, lateral scrambling paths.
Sparse desert vegetation is visible in the valley, marking a small oasis-like area within the arid environment. The rocky mountains there are characterized by huge stone formations.
A winding road or path is visible in the foreground and midground, leading into the mountainous terrain. The photo uses leading lines from the road to draw the viewer's eye into the depth of the scene. The scale of the mountains dominates the frame, conveying a sense of grandeur and isolation.
The color palette is natural and muted, consisting mainly of various shades of brown, tan, and gray earth tones, typical of a desert environment. The sky is a clear blue, providing a strong contrast to the arid landscape. The lighting appears to be natural daylight, highlighting the textures of the rock formations.
The photo is taken from a slightly elevated position on a gentle slope, providing a clear view down toward the valley floor.

The region is a popular destination for hikers, with various trails such as the Esla Trail and routes leading to the summit of Mount Sinai. Nearby is the highest peak in Egypt, Mount Catherine.
I sure felt like a trail camera here. These three deer came so close on this evening. I was perfectly still and downwind..and we all know how quiet our camera actions can be. It did make me wonder if folks had been feeding them in this preserve, or if I was truly a curiosity. Whatever the cause, it was a cool moment.
Total distances on all trails including spurs is 7.9 miles (12.6 km). Trail to Landscape Arch – This easy segment of the Devils Garden trail (1.9 mi/3.1 km roundtrip) is relatively flat with hard packed surfaces to walk on. There is no significant elevation gain, only moderate hills, up and down. The trail meanders through tall fins to a spectacular view of Landscape Arch.
Trail continues to Double O Arch – This trail to Double O Arch is difficult as it steeply climbs up and on the sandstone fins. Footing is rocky; there are narrow ledges with steep drop-offs. Hikers must use their hands and feet to scramble and climb. Though strenuous, the out-and-back hike to Double O Arch (4.1 mi/6.6 km roundtrip) is popular and offers incredible views.
This is my 1st Bobcat trail cam pic this year. It looks young and very healthy. Just in the last week we've had the following visitors at our water. Doe, Buck, Fawn, Jackrabbit. Raven, various songbirds, Momma cow and her baby Bull, Fox, and Bobcat

Vista Grande Trail @ Santa Rosa Plateau.
OK...I have been on flickr for a year and have never tried any type of actual processing similar to HDR. While this isn't HDR, it is my meager first attempt to get that type of effect. Let me know what you think...I can take it! :)
I really think someone who knows how to do HDR could take this shot to whole other level that I couldn't even begin to attempt! (hint, hint Artie or Doug or Janie or any one of many other talented flickr friends! - I have the RAW image!) :)
