We went snowshoeing at Kohler Andrae State Park this morning at the tail end of a snow storm and were the first to blaze through the trail. It was really peaceful!
After yesterday's whimsy I thought I'd follow up with epic. :-) This is one of the many views from the Lakes Trail just before it connects with Skyline, what a wonderful place when the flowers are in bloom.
Trailing edge of a storm that had just blown over my favorite place on the California coast, Pescadero State Beach.
The portion of the Grandview Trail up near the rim of the Grand Canyon had quite a bit of snow and ice on the trail. Luckily the farther down into the canyon we got, the less snow. The Grandview Trail was originally constructed by miners to connect copper mines with the rim. It is steep with drop offs on one side. But the views of the canyon were amazing!
A 30 minute long exposure during a trip at Tzoumerka, Epirus (Greece). It's my first exposure lasting over 10 minutes, and the result just fascinated me!
Hope that you like this photo as much as I did while taking it!
Gedenkspur, Pirna
For each of the more than 14,000 victims who were gassed in the Pirna-Sonnenstein killing center, a colored cross symbolizes the crime and forms part of a memorial trail that leads from Pirna's old town to the cellar of Sonnenstein Castle, the site of the crime.

Taken at Nevada City, CA.
A heaven for people who loves nature. Beautiful place for hiking and to get away from the busy city life.
Bluff trail towards what Apple maps calls Arroyo de la Cruz beach. I think the GPS map is roughly accurate. If you find a copy of the map to the Pt Sierra Nevada trail, the parking lot is the south trailhead to this (sometimes obscure and unmaintained) trail. PM me if you want route-finding help.
Wow. What an iris! I continue to be amazed at the macro capabilities of my iphone. The Wizards of Cupertino!
