Oakland's red phase. I should mention that this signal doesn't feature a "NO TURN ON RED" sign, and the vehicle code does not grant an exemption for arrows in relation to the left on red onto a one-way street rule, so one can make a left in this situation.
Still standing as of November 2022!
Quite hard to find any of these still around in Adelaide. Introduced in the 1970's, these coloured variants have since been mostly replaced by a plain black on yellow pictogram on the approach to a set of traffic lights. Mostly used only on side streets, not on main roads.

The covered-up sign is a left-only lane-use sign, which I saw last night. If the plan is to use a flashing-yellow for northbound yet permit left turns for southbound, they'd have to use a lead-left for the left turn signal, because a lag left would cause a red trap situation. And somehow, if the Van Buren phase is skipped, it would still lead to a potential trap situation. If the engineers would just install the flashing-yellow left-turn signal here, they would avoid a red-trap situation here altogether. (The current signal bans left-turns for SB now because of the lag left NB.)
No More Running Away
The sun comes streaming throught the clouds,
Dust and dirt are settled all around,
I hear the same old words,
I see the same old warning scars
Using the mobile whilst waiting for the lights to change - neither of them noticed that the lights HAD changed.
IORY 5014 leads the Indiana & Ohio Railway's Mason Job southbound across the intersection of Tylersville Road and U.S. Route 42 in Downtown Mason, Ohio. The intersection is setup with an interlocked rail and vehicle traffic signalling system that cycles all automobile traffic lights to red when the train hits the circuit. Once those are red, the traffic lights on either side of the railroad crossing light up green for the train to cross the intersection.

This actually would be a rarity, presuming most upgrades to a flashing yellow arrow signal in Michigan would involve also upgrading to boxspans. This signal is a Wayne County installation, which hasn't quite yet gotten to the level of Oakland County in terms of FYAs.
Yesterday, Picaddilly Line, Northern Line, Circle Line, District Line were all down. So I took the bus home. On my way to South Kensington, at Tottenham Court Road, I saw that girl and said to myself, I need to take a picture. Seriously...
