The trees to the left of the church in the center are located where Michigan Avenue used to run.

Close-up of old 4-Way traffic signal at 3rd and D Streets in Miami, OK

Have I ever said how great it is that the red arrow is making a comeback in Michigan?

(Project 365 Day 77)

Quick snap while I was at a red light. (Cropped.)

Not the sort of thing one expects to see... or have to obey. Fortunately there are evil yellow 'Average Speed Cameras' to keep track of any car's minor misdemeanours.

Occasionally in Michigan, you'll find signals with black visors, but it is a rarity when you find them with black housings as well, so naturally I had to snap some pics when I came across this one while driving around Grandville. They could've painted the mountings and freestanding ped poles black to match the scheme. This is looking north on Wilson.

A traffic light and bus stop sign on 1st Street in Milwaukee.

The red section shown stays steady when Grandville Avenue has the green, and flashes when Clyde Park has green.

Something in this photo doesn't belong here. I'll leave it to you, dear reader, to figure what.

016 - Martin Luther King Day. I think this will be last free weekend I have until the latter half of February. Works gonna be picking up, but I have a trip in March that I'm really looking forward to.

I really liked the icicle on this.

Meine Angewohnheit, bei roten Ampeln aus dem Autofenster rauszufotografieren, hat schon schlechtere Ergebnisse gezeitigt. Richtig gute aber kaum. Das hier auch nicht.

I tried to do this as an HDR by over and under-developing my RAWs. I think that means the proper curve could've accomplished the same effect, but oh well.

Plaça Cerdà in Barcelona.

It should be noted that there are two left turn faces despite one sign.

Ever have a problem getting a signal to trip for you on your bicycle? A solution, if it is available, is to ride slowly, off to the right, and let the car behind you pass. That way, the car will trip the light.

Yes, in a perfect world, the light would properly sense me and my bicycle. Unfortunately, lights tend to be designed to sense cars.

This photo is from a helmet cam video where I did exactly that. It was taken at SW Allen and SW King in Beaverton, Oregon, USA. 12/23/2011 about 2:50PM.

I've had mixed results with this traffic signal. Sometimes I can get it to trip for me. Sometimes it won't. So this is an interesting video because it shows an instance that motor vehicles can be useful: to handle difficult-to-trigger traffic lights.

(No, unlike many of my other photos this one is NOT of a motorist disobeying a traffic rule.)

I presume the heads which are hung up will be used when traffic is shifted to that side of Baker.
