pittsburgh's rail history means the town has some raised embankments as well as this trench, that cuts for miles through the old greensward on the north shore of the allegheny river. this is kind of a gimmick shot, taken by sticking my camera through the fence and shooting blind - i need to come down here with a better set-up and do it right some day. the tracks are still active; a coal train rumbled through moments before i took this.
