I had to work during the 34 annual Roy Peck invitational, so the 5D stayed at home. However, I did mange this iPhone attempt at the sky above during the girls 3200 meter run. All in all, it was a beautiful day for a meet.

popular spot for both East and Western roads. Here on the North side, or Milwaukee Road side, serviced the many Hiawatha trains heading in and out of Chicago. The draw to Chicago for the east and westward links was probably why so many railroads decided to take advantage of the historic building.
Today is the ribbon-cutting on the 19-month-long restoration project on O and P Streets NW, during which short stretches of traditional cobbled streets were upgraded and streetcar tracks that once formed part of a network crisscrossing the city were rehabilitated. The whole project—which included work on water mains and streetlights—cost an estimated $12 million.
Building tracks for the First Hill Streetcar continued this week on South Jackson Street in front of Union Station. The City of Seattle is managing the design, construction and operation of the streetcar, using funds from Sound Transit. When trains are running, scheduled for fall 2014, passengers can ride from Pioneer Square to Capitol Hill via the International District and First Hill neighborhoods.

Looking east, this is where a dual-set of signals once stood. These ones were presumably faced west for coming eastbounds, probably for warrants over the Fox River bridge.
Tracks are now being built in the area south of the Kimball station.
The old tracks were demolished, ballast removed, ducts dug up, and now new underground electrical components and lower ballast are in.
Service to Kimball is set to resume early Monday morning after the 9-day closure to make this work possible.
