Diverse tracks on the freshly-shoveled sidewalk as I drop off luggage in the car. Fresh-fallen snow is a sight, but it's too clean, too pristine. Walking through the snow gives it humanity.

A few favorite shots from the 2021 CIML Metro track and field meet. After being cancelled last year, all five Des Moines high schools along with Ottumwa competed to crown the conferences top runners, throwers and jumpers.
Fresh black bear tracks in the mud this morning after last nights heavy rainstorm. Smaller and lighter cub tracks were nearby... Very cool, too bad I missed the actual encounter!
Renewing the track at Five Oak Green on 10 November 1996 is 37010 in multiple with 33019 with a train being loaded with old ballast.
