Train tracks at the Himmelmoor (roughly "heaven's moor") near Quickborn in northern Germany. Peat is still being mined in parts of this moor (left side of the tracks), while others are being restored (right side of the tracks). The cold weather the last few days covered the ground nicely in thin snow and ice.

The volcanic eruption on Fimmvörðuháls in Iceland has coverered the surface of the glacier with ash. People walking, driving and snow mobiling to and from the eruption make their own roads and tracks, revealing the colour of snow through the ash.
The people in the photograph are hiking a 30km trek through the highlands of Iceland to get a glimpse of nature at it´s most brutal and raw.

This is a track near home in suburban Melbourne. It is in the eastern portion of the green belt, land reserved for no or low impact development. The end of the track is a mess, finishing near a bike path & a tollway. The start is off a highway. Here in the middle it is a peaceful remote location with laughing kookaburras.
(106/366) We took Poppy for a walk around a local lake & Martin spotted several deer hoofprints in the soft mud. I've seen deer locally from a distance (I think they are Roe deer) and so have our neighbours. Happy Textural Tuesday!
A single track runs throught the Miley Tunnel, Preston. Rumour has it that it is haunted by the Grey Lady, the ghost of a woman who was pulled under the wheels of a train at nearby Deepdale Station. The last passenger train steamed through here in 1930, although the goods trains carried on for another 60 years.
