We had a nice little walk down the canal in Uppermill this morning.

Straight from the car park we were greeted by this very imposing bridge. Hinting at the areas industrial past along with other remains from a bygone era.

We drove home through Oldham which must have been a very grand and important place during the industrial revolution. Sadly now seemingly forgotten about as it is so run down and grim.

The white glow comes from the floodlighting at Firhill, during a game between Partick Thistle and Raith Rovers. Thistle won, the Raith Rovers website recording - The Dickensian fog was still a factor, with visibility poor. At pitch level, the players looked unaffected, but supporters peering through the gloom at MacDonald’s goal had their work cut out following the play.
