because I came along the canal from the ackers pit end all the ducks and swans saw me first so they got fed first which was good for me because when I got to the London bridge end the ducklings and mum saw me and ran along the path for food and none of the other ducks were around so it was good for photos
A rare-for-me low-contrast shot of the towpath by the Macclesfield Canal near Bosley, Cheshire.
A photo-image does not have to "pop". Subtlety is trickier to achieve than than a slap in the face, I'd say.
Cut through solid rock by hand, the Falkirk Tunnel takes the Union Canal under the edge of Callendar Park. The 620m tunnel became a requirement when 18th century industrialist William Forbes, who had purchased Callendar House, objected to the proposed route of the canal as being too close to his property. Just goes to show that planning permision was a problem even back then!

This towpath is alongside the lake at the park. So far, I've only taken a right along the path. I want to go back and take a left. More investigating to do!!
It's a beautiful place for a walk, but there's no place to sit. Last year I bought a portable chair that's lightweight & in a mesh bag that you sling across your shoulder. lol!! I need to bring it next time, so I can rest up and go farther. ;-))
One good thing about getting older.. you don't care as much about what people will think. I've been wearing my reading glasses on a chain that I made non-stop since last year. Like an old lady. lol. Now I'm going to carry a portable chair. lol.. Whatever.. ;-))
