Leaning Tower of Pisa from a different perspective. I wasn't nervous until I saw how much actual "leaning" the tower was doing. Our guide for the day reassured me that what you cannot see is how much reinforcing is going on underground. It would take an act of god to knock this thing over at this point...

Tower of London, is a historic castle on the north bank of the River Thames in central London, England. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England. The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078.

This folly is 140 feet (43 metres) high and was built in 1750 by architect and Lord of Horton Manor, Humphrey Sturt, who was also an MP for Dorset (1745 - 1786).

Also known as Sturt's folly, the reasons for its original construction remain unclear, but one theory suggests its owner planned to use the tower as an observatory, stargazing in the night sky.

The tower has received some restoration work in recent years by mobile phone company Vodafone. This was carried out after they received planning permission fix mobile phone signal masts discreetly to its sides and near the top.
