Gebäude-Ensemble bestehend aus dem Altbau "Villa Ilse" Baudenkmal - benannt nach dem Bauherren Leopold Ilse, 1872-74 von H. Sobotta - und zwei Neubauten, ihrer Fassadengestaltung wegen als Glas-, bzw. Steinhaus bezeichnet, mit einer kleinen Piazza 1991-93 von Wolf-Rüdiger Borchardt; Umbau der Villa zu einem Kundenzentrum ebenfalls von Borchardt. Die Verbindungsbrücke zwischen Villa und Glashaus von der Künstlerin Mona Fux.

Construction of the tower began 11th November 1848, and completed 30th May 1851, and was one of the last Martello Towers to be built in the United Kingdom.

The Sears tower is no longer the Sears Tower....it is now the WIllis Tower. This was on our way over to the Skydeck tour.
I always park in the garage whenever I have to pick someone up at the airport, rather than keep circling around the terminal. I had a few minutes to kill, so I got some quick shots.
This is TIA's control tower. My grandfather worked for the engineering company that built the airport back in 1971 and became head of the company in the mid-80s. He was on the cover of an engineering magazine, posing in front of the control tower. I believe the company went on to build Airside A in 1995.

Tower Bridge (built 1886–1894) is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London which crosses the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, from which it takes its name, and has become an iconic symbol of London.
The bridge consists of two towers tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways, designed to withstand the horizontal forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical component of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. The bridge's present colour scheme dates from 1977, when it was painted red, white and blue for Queen Elizabeth II's silver jubilee. Originally it was painted a mid greenish-blue colour.
