Glastonbury Tor by October Starlight. The Tor stood there in the solitude of the evening light with only two blokes with cameras and 60 bunny rabbits for company! Have never seen so many wild rabbits in one place.

Higger Tor is a dominant landmark of the Dark Peak, in the north of England's Peak District National Park. It's a gritstone tor overlooking the Burbage Valley and the iron age hill fort of Carl Wark to the southeast.

This view looks west towards Hathersage and the Hope Valley, with Castleton, Mam Tor and the Great Ridge in the far distance.

The purple heather seen here in the foreground thrives all over the moors of the Peak District and is in full bloom every August.

Glastonbury Tor is a conical hill in Glastonbury, England, which is topped by a 14th-century church tower. Rich in legend and mythological associations, Glastonbury Tor may have been a place of ancient ritual and it was certainly a place of pilgrimage for Catholics in medieval times. Today, it is a popular destination for visiting tourists, Grail theorists, ley-line enthusiasts, and those who make the climb to enjoy its sweeping view of Somerset countryside.

Glastonbury Tor is a hill at Glastonbury in the English county of Somerset, topped by the roofless St Michael's Tower, a Grade I listed building. The whole site is managed by the National Trust, and has been designated a scheduled monument.

The conical hill of clay and Blue Lias rises from the Somerset Levels. It was formed when surrounding softer deposits were eroded, leaving the hard cap of sandstone exposed. The slopes of the hill are terraced, but the method by which they were formed remains unexplained. Artefacts from human visitation have been found, dating from the Iron Age to Roman eras.

For the iPlymouth December contest - "Shadows"

On Saturday, we explored a popular part of Dartmoor which we have left out so far - the Bellever forest and Bellever Tor area. We mixed up the existing hiking paths to create our own circular walk and that way came across a range of interesting sights, including more fascinating Bronze Age relics. The photo is from the granite stacks of Bellever Tor. Being the highest point in that area there's fabulous 360 degrees distant views into Dartmoor. A little break in the otherwise darker day provided some nice sunlight on the rocks for my photo.

For anyone interested, here a video of our walk: youtu.be/1HLD261iI0k

Another view from our hike to Pew Tor last Saturday. This is one on top of the granite outcrops. The ponies were a lovely plus. The landscape could easily be the set for a Lord of the Rings film!

Probably my favourite photo I took this year so far. That moment had everything we love about going hiking on Dartmoor - epic scenery, wild animals and Bronze Age relics.

The photo is from Rippon Tor in the heart of Dartmoor. There are fantastic 360 degree views across the National Park with Haytor in the background of the shot. The top of Rippon Tor is full of remnants of ancient fortifications and must have been the perfect spot to overlook all of the land below.

The young Dartmoor pony foal could not have been much older than a few days, such a lovely encounter!
