Combestone Tor is in the centre of Dartmoor, half way between Hexworthy and Venford Reservoir. It is virtually on the edge of the road, and is the most accessible of all the Dartmoor Tors. There are beautiful views of the valley of the River Dart, with Dartmeet and the remains of its clapper bridge about a mile away across country.
Had a wander up to Millstone Edge on Tuesday evening but didn't come away with anything worth sharing from there - just after sunset I had a wander up onto Over Owler Tor as ive never been before and stumbled upon a very cliche shot so thought id join the club ;)
Nothing special very flat and no light, just some afterglow in the sky.
I'm also playing with the Fuji XT2 which is growing on me more and more.
This is 2 shots merged as the rock would have caused problems with a filter.
Heather is starting to show now so im going to try and get out a bit more for some more purple shots & light all being well.

Exposed to the elements at Saddle Tor under dark skies, hail and rain with strong winds for two hours waiting for a moment of magic. A rainbow appearing over this well known tree is what I came for just before I was too cold to carry on. The hot tea, a banana and Mars bar was much needed back at the car soon after I took this shot.

I enjoy photographing the landscape of Dartmoor in changeable weather conditions as it often adds a real sense of drama. After battling with heavy rain showers and squally winds, the sunlight shone through to illuminate the tors of southwest Dartmoor, providing some of the best conditions I’ve seen for a while. Thanks for looking – Mk.

Stunning conditions on Over Owler Tor last night.
A good few hours with dark cloud over Sheffield and clearer skies out West ending in a fantastic sunset.

Doll Tor, occasionally known as the Six Stones, is a small stone circle near Birchover, Derbyshire Peak District. Dating from the Bronze Age, the circle consists of six standing stones.
One of the few tors we passed on our hike last Sunday. There was some interesting light conditions with thick clouds covering the landscape but some sunny patches peeking through.
A moment of Peak District magic on the Great Ridge. Converting to black and white really helped the layers to stand out.

Beautiful grasses waving their straw-coloured seed heads in the wind in the rock-strewn landscape in front of Belstone Tor in Dartmoor National Park.
Inversion at that gate on Mam Tor
Tuesday was amazing with a full inversion filling Hope Valley and majority of the Peak District.
For those who follow me on other social media channels will know that this is one of my fave locations in the Peaks, its justifiable with those conditions.

Lovely conditions on Over Owler Tor last night as the rain showers blew across. It cleared too much after this and the light was harsh even until sunset.
Glad I got there early enough to catch the edge of the storm.

Would have liked to have been the person on the tor above the Chinook - would have got a good shot. Two passed on the far side.
The evenings forecast was for almost zero cloud at the tor but a few hours before sunset the moors mist and cloud rolled in and this was one of a few chances i got to shoot the tor in the glorious evening light.
