I think Patience is one of the key elements in photography. You will get your desired shot sooner or later. Wildlife photographers are master in this.
For these shots had to try for three days. But I think it worth it. These ants were thirsty. And these are plain water. But You can use sugar water.
Taken from my roof. So I haven't had to travel anywhere for this.
Had a lot of time to observe. And I could focus only on the shot. This is the beauty of macro photography. You don't need to go far. Your subjects are around you may be they are on the roof of your house or at the backyard or maybe inside your head. Yes you could make your own interesting subjects and photograph them in your bedroom, kitchen or bathroom and they could be world class. Many world class macro photographs are taken this way. For example don komarechka takes most of his extraordinary droplet photos from his kitchen. So we shouldn't let immobility our limitation. We could always find something everywhere

The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, inaugurated in 1994, uses specially themed floral displays throughout the park, including topiary sculptures of Disney characters. As part of the amazing Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebrations in 2023, the 19th annual event is scheduled for March 1, with an extended run of two months, leading up to July 5. The clothes moth (Tineola bisselliella) is a butterfly (moth) from the family of real moths (Tineidae) with worldwide distribution. Depending on the color of the food, the wings of the approximately six to nine millimeters large moths are bright yellow to dark brown, shiny, ciliate, have no markings and are folded like a roof over their backs. The wingspan is about 10 to 15 millimeters.

These guys are called Box Turtles because they have a hinged plastron that closes as "tight as a box",
and not because they like being put in a box!
Sometimes the best intentions and/or the lack of careful consideration can lead to unintended consequences, and now these guys are on the verge of becoming "endangered"
as a result of the ambiguity of their name.

A jam jar lid, mustard lid and herb lid, in a sea of Virgin Olive Oil in a White Plate in a sea of Washing Machine Softener in another plate on a bed of paper towels.
Nothing wasted.... caps returned to jars, oil saved for later use, washing softner returned to bottle, plates in the dishwasher and the paper towels to wipe up the drips.
Just using common kitchen items... but I can see how table top macro can be challenging.
Ps. Colours for this theme can be brash or subdued or any mixture of both. The theme is geared to encourage us to look at colour around us in a new way and then see how we can capture that. As this is a weekly theme... we are not looking for competition standards, just to look for a kaleidoscope of colours. Use your phone, telescope or anything to capture the image.

This key is about 35 years old and fits a glass fronted oak bookcase.
A young Green Treefrog (Hyla cinerea) - Black Point Wildlife Drive, Titusville Florida
I'm not sure why, but I've seen very few of these guys in Central Florida, and my captures to date have been farther south in the Everglades, or farther north on the panhandle. I do however see large numbers of invasive Cuban Treefrogs in the Space Coast area, so it's possible that the more aggressive Cubans have pushed the greens out of the area.

Wishbone Flower (a.k.a. Torenia Monkey Flower; Bluewings; Torenia fournieri) - The Space Coast, Florida
I should have transplanted this guy to a "safe zone", 'cause not only did the the lawn guys call it names, but cut it off at the base with their weed-whackers.
Notes: If you look closely at the stigmas you can see why it's common name is "wishbone flower". Sadly, this guy's wish to be transplanted was not granted.
Torenia fournieri was introduced to the U.S. and grows wild in the southeast and gulf states where the chance of freezing weather is minimal. It was introduced from southeast Asia (likely southern Viet Nam) where it's a popular native garden plant.

Interesting early morning walk today - usual route up the Lane, bright sunlight but a bitter little wind. A valley house is being reburbished and as a result discarded building rubbish and sometimes very outdated house contents are temporarily left in a small yard. I always look on the basis there might be something to photograph. Today there was a very old, dirty and jammed photo slide projector - but no longer.
Back in my workshop I managed to remove the lens and then spent an hour cleaning it - surprisingly it seems to have scratches only on the outside.
So why bother?
I've put my camera on a tripod, attached extension tubes and then held the newly cleaned projector lens to the end of the tubes. There is no easy focus, just a case of either moving the tripod or the subject a piece of ribbon - all a bit of hit or miss.
This photo is my first attempt!
I wasn't expecting great sharpness and or great depth of field - I haven't either. What I did suspect I would get was 'BOKAH' and I'm not disappointed!
