Coffee at Eleven, Elizabeth? Is a line from a famous British sitcom - Keeping up appearances.
It wasn't actually eleven when I made this but late afternoon. I had the unexpected pleasure of looking after my grandson this afternoon. Needless to say I was too busy to get a photo until he had left and I decided to relax for a few minutes with a coffee...two birds with one stone. Looking after a toddler is exhausting work but great fun.

Il y a quelque temps alors que je ne m'y attendais pas , au détour d'un chemin sous un orage de montagne avec Oggì, je fis la découverte de ce sublime Lilium pomponium (lys de Pomponne) . Quelle surprise, il est sublime avec ce rouge éclatant ! Il va falloir réussir à faire quelque chose malgré l'orage. L'année prochaine, il me faudra trouver le Lys martagon avec son rose fuschia

For 'Macro Mondays' theme of 'On a Coin'.
Issued for the 1951 'Festival of Britain' the Crown or 'Five Shilling' piece is about 1 and a half inches in diameter. On top a small pharmaceutical bottle complete with cork.
I had hoped to show a lovely coloured liquid in the bottle, and I managed to get in some red food colouring. Unfortunately, the bottle fell over while I was trying to balance it on the uneven surface of the coin - the colouring discoloured the cork and the remaining liquid subsequently refused to go to the bottom of the bottle!
(There was no bad language uttered during the making of this photiograph.)
This little flask-shaped bottle was never intended to stand up and I had to grind down the bottom to get anything like a flat surface.

'Glass' & 'Wabi Sabi'
Just had to be photographing glass bottles - again!
Three bottles of very different sizes laid on an illuminated panel and lit with a single desk lamp. The colour was introduced by light reflected from a gift bag.
The rim of the small bottle is 8mm across - yes, its small!
The depth of field is pretty shallow with the lens 'wide open' but I seem to have all three glass rims in focus. They should be because I lined them up with a straight edge. This is where the 'Wabi Sabi' comes in - they don't look lined up! The smaller the bottle the closer it is to the illuminated panel.
As usual, I didn't start out with this particular arrangement in mind - things just evolved.

I've been playing with the 50mm reversed lens again doing some Macro.
Desk top Macro of a fifty dollar bill detail.
Looking as proud and regal as the famous lioness Elsa from the 1966 film Born Free. And just like Elsa, this little snail is being returned to the wild. I have kept this snail along with some friends safe and well-fed over the cold winter months - but now it is time to return them to my garden (away from the hostas) to live free again.
For Macro Mondays theme 'On Top'. I looked in my garden for something suitable to put a snail on - and found several of my small ferns putting up new fronds. This one was nicely back lit by morning sunshine that shows off the translucence of the snail's body. The curled head of the frond was just under 2.5cm across, the photo was cropped to be within the size limit.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.

This is getting to be a bit of a thing. What is it about pink?
I spent the afternoon trying to photograph shadows for tomorrow's Macro Mondays group challenge, but nothing worked. Maybe I just prefer light to shadows. I'm not sure, but in any case I felt much happier photographing flowers.
