I had an idea for this theme that eventually inspired me to carve the chalk tip into a heart. Unfortunately, when I had finished the heart broke! I was able to situate the piece back onto the chalk but, the heart is broken. It could be a great metaphor now. ;)

For 'Macro Mondays' theme of 'Water'.
Just one drop of water on a clear sheet of perspex resting on two wooden blocks. The blocks are about 6 inches above the table-top on which there is a swatch of coloured papers.
Focused carefully on the drop to catch the refracted colours and texture of the papers.
This was made possible with an eighty year old four-legged stand on which the camera was perched to shoot vertically down.

I figured there were going to be lots of candles and matches so I tried to think outside the box this time.

Our forecast today was for rain or snow showers. Neither happened so I had to resort to a spray bottle. Oh well maybe rain or snow will come tomorrow.
HMM!

At least in my time is the 1938 dated British 'half-penny' showing Sir Francis Drake's 'Golden Hind', built in 1577 and first named 'Pelican' The galleon returned to Deptford, England and was on display until the 1660s when it was beginning to break up. Scrapped in 1668 some timber salvaged is reputed to exist as a chair in the Bodleian Library, Oxford .
The background leather replicates part of a design used for a cover on a book titled 'Chroniques' published 1514 in Paris.
Both happened to be on my desk for this quick 'one off' photograph.

Sometimes we think that we are small and defenseless, and what we can do in this world. But even small and seemingly weak ones can conquer the peaks. Not a single snail was harmed during these shootings.

Coffee at Eleven, Elizabeth? Is a line from a famous British sitcom - Keeping up appearances.
It wasn't actually eleven when I made this but late afternoon. I had the unexpected pleasure of looking after my grandson this afternoon. Needless to say I was too busy to get a photo until he had left and I decided to relax for a few minutes with a coffee...two birds with one stone. Looking after a toddler is exhausting work but great fun.
