I had an idea for this theme that eventually inspired me to carve the chalk tip into a heart. Unfortunately, when I had finished the heart broke! I was able to situate the piece back onto the chalk but, the heart is broken. It could be a great metaphor now. ;)

Bottle tops for #MacroMondays theme #FillTheFrame

HMM!

A little table top macro fun..

For 'Macro Mondays' theme of 'Water'.

Just one drop of water on a clear sheet of perspex resting on two wooden blocks. The blocks are about 6 inches above the table-top on which there is a swatch of coloured papers.

Focused carefully on the drop to catch the refracted colours and texture of the papers.

This was made possible with an eighty year old four-legged stand on which the camera was perched to shoot vertically down.

I figured there were going to be lots of candles and matches so I tried to think outside the box this time.

#MacroMondays theme #Wabi-Sabi

Our forecast today was for rain or snow showers. Neither happened so I had to resort to a spray bottle. Oh well maybe rain or snow will come tomorrow.

There is something about the quality of the bokeh that this lens is producing with macro photographs

I am beginning to see the possibilities with this odd lens and now that I have fitted a helicoid focussing ring between lens and camera focussing is a bit easier. At f1.2 the depth of field is small and the lens is always 'fully open' as it has no aperture blades.

Taken For Macro Mondays Theme- Red

Taking my figurines around the block this morning and playing with light and processing. I am feeling a little stuck with these figurines and think it is time to move away from them and into something new. I am not sure what that is yet but I will linger still while I decide.

Macro Mondays

When moving around with a macro lens, a completely new and fascinating world opens up. Found this incredible, alien-like structure while exploring the Akionlahti nature reserve in Oulu, Finland. It looks like a tiny football, but it is actually the ripening seed capsule of an Arctic Starflower (Lysimachia europaea).
