An urban greenspace in late autumn.

I hope yours is festive and fun! (…and if you’re not into the whole ‘holiday spirit’ thing, don’t fret, I’m sure the month will fly by, same as all those that came before it ;-))

Zoeterwoude, winter in the Netherlands, Nikon 70-300mm

This was in the beginning of the snow and ice period, I had to protect my Nikon gear with a lot of plastic:-))

Taken at Paignton in Devon. The weather was overcast and slightly oppressive which created a strangely languid atmosphere - Like the scene were lost in time, so have added a vintage "tweak"

Pretty much SOOC...did a bit of sharpening....and of course fixing my horizion since I can never get it straight...it was a beautiful, magical evening..

With Father's day approaching...I dedicate this to my dad...gone for 16 years now, with a song that he loved, played often, and now I love too...and I never get tired of hearing it...can listen to it over and over again....please take the time to listen...

And a early Happy Father's Day wish to all of the dads out there....hope you all have a great one.

Our 1-2 inch predicition turned into 4½ inches of snow. But who cares when the cardinals look so good against white. Besides which Spring is coming!! I know because I heard a cardinal singing today and they don't in the winter. Must be a sign!

If you'd like to listen, you'll find a whole page of cardinal songs here.

Thank you to graceindirain

This is another one of the crafts we did this past weekend. Repurposing some logs and summoning the ghosts of the forest to combine into some cute front porch decorations!

Year Sixteen Of My 365 Project

From Wikipedia:

Pinus rigida, the pitch pine, is a small-to-medium-sized (6–30 m or 20–98 ft) pine. It is native to eastern North America, from central Maine south to Georgia and as far west as Kentucky, and in two pockets along the St. Lawrence River in southern Quebec and Ontario. It is found in environments which other species would find unsuitable for growth such as acidic, sandy, and low nutrient soils. This species occasionally hybridizes with other pine species such as loblolly pine (Pinus taeda), shortleaf pine (Pinus echinata), and pond pine (Pinus serotina); the last is treated as a subspecies of pitch pine by some botanists.
