Sleigh-ride in the snow

Doylestown Presbyterian Church (Doylestown, Pennsylvania, USA) dates to 1813. The current structure, shown in the photo, was dedicated on May 16, 1872.

In 1940, an educational building was constructed behind the church edifice on Mechanics Street. The building was enlarged in 1965 and renamed Andrews Hall in honor of Dr. Silas Andrews who served for fifty years as minister (1831-1881). In the fall of 2011, an eighteen-month project ended that included the expansion of Andrews Hall, renovation of the sanctuary, and construction of an enclosed bridge connecting the two buildings.

This is a night-time shot that I have wanted to take for a number of years. The twisting road in a tunnel of trees appear like gray pillars holding up a rusty roof, standing beside a rusted floor, have always struck me as having a unique combination of great beauty with a spooky atmosphere.

We need trees to have clouds; often clouds rise up from the trees in the early morning. Franche Comté - FR
