The yellow dot on the tiny leaf moved, and I got this with my 100 mm macro. Hello down there! It's so small that I wonder if not hundreds of these could fit on the eye of a fly! I could barely see that small head turning and tilting to gaze at my lens, which to it must have looked like a UFO the size of a city. Unfortunately by the time my 5X macro was mounted, it had vanished.
Today, 25th Aug 2014, I learnt from one of David Attenborough's documentaries that this is a springtail. (Norwegian: Spretthale.) Also some sad news today, as his brother Richard Attenborough died Sunday (24th), 90 years old.
I found this on a flowering shrub in the Parklands. I have no idea what it is but the tiny flowers were just beautiful. This was about 1cm across.

I found this tiny moth just a few meters away from my home in Nagoya. There is an empty lot where everything is allowed to grow during spring and summer, providing not only a nice patch of green to the neighbourhood but also a habitat for fellows like the tiny moth. I shot this one with my new Olympus E-PL1 in combination with the heavy Zuiko 12-60mm – a rare combination, yet capable of great image quality. The small aperture of 4.5 made it possible to shoot this one without a tripod and makes it a kind of portrait rather than a classical insect macro shot. From my website at www.focx.de

This tiny bunny was hardly bigger than a man's fist. It sat frozen in place as I approached. It probably was very scared.

"Tiny" Often you don't need anything more than a normal lens to do close up work with nice bokeh. The largest flower in this image was about 1/2 in. in diameter. It was taken with a Nikkor 28-300mm, 3.5-5.6, variable aperture lens. The capture aperture was f/6.3. And it was hand held. (I will be posting 2 more variations of this image with 2 different textures added.)

Can Perspective be Changed through Photography?
I've always been amazed with how photographs of sprawling cities or landscapes can look like miniature models, so I decided to try a tilt-shift project. I took photos from the top of a parking garage, and tried making the scene look like a tiny model.
The first question I considered answering was "Can you make something Small look Big?", but decided to switch it around and turn something large into something that appears very small.
I think it turned out very well, although taking even more photos to try it on would have been great.
