I figured I would try my hand at some photo manipulation. I don't think I did too well, but this was the only photo I had that would fit as a good choice for the technique.
Santa Rosa Cancer Memorial Park. These seven photographs are part of an attempt to learn how to use my new 17mm Tse lens. If you are not familiar with tilt/shift lenses, one of their attributes is extreme depth of field. That is what I was working on in these pics.

I took this in May of 2004 from the 8th floor of the High Point-Radisson hotel in High Point, NC. I figured it would be a decent starting point for my test even with the bad quality. I ran the Sharpen filter on it a few times because the original was a little blurry.
This was used as the base for the Focus Blur test.
Blog entry: Fake tilt-shift with Paint Shop Pro
For the group "Getting Pushed", I have been challenged by Coollessons2004 to "work with tilt-shift photography. Tilt-Shift uses a mixture of focus to simulate a miniature scene." Right. This is the first result!

Tilt-shift pictures are taken from an higher point of view and then modified in photoshop to make it look like a smaller scale. You can also use a tilt-shift lens to do it directly while taking the picture.
You add blur to make it seems like the picture was taken in macro and that the elements in front and background are out of focus.
To make it look like a model, you can play with the levels to gice it an artificial look.
